But it is true. Murder rates increase alongside with ice cream consumption, as you just said. That doesnt mean that murder rates are increased because of ice cream consumption, however when multiple suspicious actions occur, you start to have a story

You are right, I made the analogy wrong. The analogy is supposed to be that there is evidence that increased ice cream consumption causes increased murders. Which was my point. There is evidence that that claim is true, but that doesn't change the fact that the claim isn't true.
