I thought that too because I had never met one but there’s a handful of us out there
670 according to that website
I’m actually surprised that there are as many with my last name.
I’ve only met a couple of other people with it and it turns out we were actually related.
Kinda neat
Here’s another one.
556 people with my last name and they’re 96.94% white. That checks out with the 10 or so of us I know
Like 22% of my last name is black.
I bet they’re really mixed race.
Or they were owned by your family 😂
Racist cracker honky 😤
Probably. Lol
We’ve looked back at our family and they were all too broke to own any people
Already true on my mother’s side
If both sides of my family had ancestors who owned slaves it would make me even worse on the privilege scale.
Lol
You slave driver! I bet you’re a billionaire because of the work those kangz did 😤
Lol.
I had ancestors who died from cuts.
Died from cuts?
Yes. Got infected
Oh
My great grandparent was an orphan because of it.
Lol
Or something like that.
A brother and a sister.
Don’t know what happened to her, but he was my grandfathers father.
My great grandmother had tons of siblings. I think that side had the relatives who owned slaves.
My dad’s side is a black hole of knowledge to me.
My dad says we’re French.
🙃
I don’t know much about my mom’s side but my dad’s side was relatively easy to look up because of the super rare last name. Came over in 1730s from the Palatinate in Germany when there was a big immigration wave
Wow. Cool.
It’s kinda nice knowing I guess. They were shipped here as indentured servants by the British empire to work in Pennsylvania. They ended up getting moved to South Carolina though and after they became free they moved west to east Alabama where there are still some today
I don’t wanna say where they live because it actually might doxx my last name
I understand.
That’s cool though
I’m not sure about everything in my mother’s family. I’m related to Robert e Lee apparently.
Don’t know how true that is.
