In my county they have just banned a schoolbook which has a mat exercise where two boys called Xavier and Etienne want to colour their room pink. The exercise is to figure out how much red colour and how much white colour need to be mixed to get to have the pink colour they want.
The issue:
The names Xavier and Etienne are also the name of our Prime Minister and Interior Minister who both happen to be gay.
This math problem has been deemed homophobic and the book has been taken out of the curriculum!
