@CCRed95 check out https://www.youtube.com/3blue1brown
for really great intuitive videos on math.

i read that you were getting hung up on calc 2

2019-07-18 07:09:47 UTC

Oooh, looks interesting!!! subbed and belled my guy

2019-07-18 07:10:06 UTC

First vid Fourier Transforms, had to learn that for work a bit ago

2019-07-18 07:10:16 UTC

cool cool. hes got a whole series for each subject. his visuals are all done via his own python lib

2019-07-18 07:10:47 UTC
2019-07-18 07:11:25 UTC

i havent had to deal with fourier transforms yet, but i will have to next spring

I almost exploded my brain trying to write a mathematical model for a surface cubic/quadric/quadratic/catmull/rom spline algorithms that model the color space relationally of the Material Design Color Palette

2019-07-18 07:14:08 UTC

are those all surface smoothing algos?

2019-07-18 07:15:58 UTC

I wanted to be able to interpolate between the defined colors in the material design color palette mathematically, by analyzing the color spatial data as a series of 3d mesh nets

The goal was to use it for some of the gradient type effects on my charting / data visualization library, but instead of being a gradient of color points, its a gradient of swatch sets that can vary in luminosity 0->1000 and fit to the palette while conforming to a very very smooth looking gradient set instead of choppy with linear.

2019-07-18 07:19:56 UTC

And no, it was NOT worth the effort lol

2019-07-18 07:19:59 UTC

thats pretty interesting. is that stuff what you often work with?

2019-07-18 07:20:07 UTC

lol i was gonna say

2019-07-18 07:21:47 UTC

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCgnWqoP4MM I wrote the data acquisition, industrial analytics, and intelligent manufacturing system for this project

2019-07-18 07:22:42 UTC

Yeah, I mean i had no business spending like 3 weeks straight fucking around with color gradient autistic details and that absolutely nobody will notice or appreciate except me hahaha

2019-07-18 07:22:43 UTC

thats impressive.

2019-07-18 07:23:06 UTC

howd you get into that?

2019-07-18 07:23:10 UTC

Thanks man 😃 yeah that was a fun project

2019-07-18 07:23:57 UTC

And lol i dropped outta college after 2 semesters and accidentally got a job doing an $80 mil data system for a fucking nazi insane company when i was like 19

2019-07-18 07:24:09 UTC

im really shocked that that didnt go absolutely horrifically lol

2019-07-18 07:24:34 UTC

lol talk about the exception to the rule.

2019-07-18 07:24:37 UTC

lots of amphetamine and 80 hour weeks hahaha

2019-07-18 07:24:40 UTC

mostly self taught then?

2019-07-18 07:24:47 UTC

lol god bless adderall

2019-07-18 07:24:58 UTC

Yup only self taught, i cant learn from a classroom

2019-07-18 07:25:28 UTC

Code you gotta learn by doing, and just picking a project idea and doing it and not following some stupid tutorial

2019-07-18 07:26:10 UTC

for sure. i'm a CS undergrad at UC Berkeley

2019-07-18 07:26:19 UTC

Oooh yeah??

2019-07-18 07:26:23 UTC

yezzir

2019-07-18 07:26:29 UTC

What sort of development area are you interested in?

2019-07-18 07:26:38 UTC

hopefully graduating next spring

2019-07-18 07:26:46 UTC

anything that will make me money

2019-07-18 07:27:10 UTC

ive done some android apps for non-profits, those were fun

2019-07-18 07:27:21 UTC

im not interested in web dev.

2019-07-18 07:27:23 UTC

Hell yeah dude, thats awesome, yeah programming if you are good at it and enjoy it you can make quite a bit of money very quick

2019-07-18 07:27:30 UTC

and UGHHH
