That's why I'd say she needs some degree of support - y'all need to bring civil discourse back into politics

2019-08-04 16:13:25 UTC

In 2016 Bernie had overwhelming support (till he became a corporate shill), he didn't get the nomination. Reports from the time said he actually won the primaries but in a closed door meeting Hillary was anointed the chosen one. Peoples support does not matter to the Dems, it's the illusion of choice. The DNC lawsuit, they argued that they could pick the nominee from a smoke filled room and just ignore votes. It's in court documents somewhere.

2019-08-04 16:14:07 UTC

I'm not talking about winning the nomination. I'm talking about culture

2019-08-04 16:15:39 UTC

Also people's support will matter when they lack funding

2019-08-04 16:16:04 UTC

I agree, the system is so corrupted now. They say one thing, inflame the messes and insight disharmony. I don't know what can be done, Trump is our biggest hope at the moment (In m opinion)

2019-08-04 16:16:14 UTC

The attraction for tulsi started when she stood against the dnc in 2016 for screwing over bernie

2019-08-04 16:16:47 UTC

I think Trump is too knee jerk, and supports a lot of the same dumb shit, but he was a good "fuck you" to the establishment

2019-08-04 16:16:59 UTC

Sticking it to the DNC in 2016 is exactly why Tulsi will go nowhere in 2019.

2019-08-04 16:17:29 UTC

The DNC's current trajectory is why they'll lose in 2020

2019-08-04 16:18:41 UTC

Were I the arbiter here, I'd rather support reasonable people who won't win in the slightest over unreasonable people who will lose by less. The politics in that regard are irrelevant

2019-08-04 16:18:45 UTC

Still not convinced there will not be a big anti trump movememt in 2020 for those who are just tired of the news talking about trump

2019-08-04 16:18:45 UTC

Frosty, the GOP tried to rig its 2016 primary but fortunately for the GOP the GOP is too inept at primary rigging.

2019-08-04 16:18:50 UTC

When a bolt is rusted and can not be turned. Sometimes a good "knee jerk" can get the job done

2019-08-04 16:19:13 UTC

Yeah it's real great when Trump botches his own foreign policy and attacks 2a

2019-08-04 16:19:20 UTC

Sure is fixing the system

2019-08-04 16:19:30 UTC

Some people will vote against trump in hopes appeasing media will quiet it down

2019-08-04 16:20:40 UTC

Appeasing the media is maybe the very worst fatal mistake you can make.

2019-08-04 16:25:03 UTC

That may be, but most people dont drink from the politics cup all day. Most turn on tc after work for an hour and are tires of the noise

2019-08-04 16:25:26 UTC

I don't think most people are even turning on CNN anymore

2019-08-04 16:25:48 UTC

Especially repubs and independents, who on average don't trust the media

2019-08-04 16:27:45 UTC

The real media manipulation in 2019 is coming from Silicon Valley. They're already plotting to rig the 2020 election in subtle ways that most people can't detect.

2019-08-04 16:28:17 UTC

I wouldn't call them subtle but I would say that most people aren't paying attention to it, yeah

2019-08-04 16:30:36 UTC

I don't know anyone who isn't already scared of Google or Facebook or Twitter's power to manipulate our elections.

2019-08-04 16:31:29 UTC

They're worried but unwilling to find out why or how, for the most part

2019-08-04 16:32:13 UTC

For most people anything beyond knowing a few URLs is beyond the give-a-fuck-o-sphere

2019-08-04 16:32:59 UTC

*which is also probably why so many people feel the government needs to step in*

2019-08-04 16:33:16 UTC

Most older folks like my parents and such, don't use the internet to gather information in the way we do. Most still rely on broadcast TV and news print. But, have started tuning out. They know something is not right but they have other things on their minds .. like life / kids / work. They will not dig enough to get at the truth.

2019-08-04 16:33:51 UTC

That's the problem

2019-08-04 16:33:51 UTC

Actually I think a lot of the older crowd now get news from Facebook feeds tbh

2019-08-04 16:34:04 UTC

Which is just as bad

2019-08-04 18:45:14 UTC

"Tulsi is also willing to have actual conversations without frothing at the mouth over absolutely everything." how is she more reasonable or non frothing than say Biden. He is dishonest as shit, but not very aggressive (maybe because he lacks energy). And I wouldnt respect anyone who considers a national apology and proposal for reparations for the institution of slavery or talks about gun show loopholes and reinstating a federal ban on military-style assault weapons. @Beemann

2019-08-04 18:46:02 UTC

She uses the exact same talking points as every other Democratic Candidate

2019-08-04 18:48:03 UTC

And the people like Gabbard and Yang being willing to go on Shapiros or Rogans show has nothing to do with being reasonable, but with recognizing that they wont find the neccessary support within the usual party base.

2019-08-04 20:04:56 UTC

Nah Biden panders super hard. I think Tulsi believes what she says, but isn't going to go on the warpath over it. She also went on these sorts of shows prior to her actual run. I think the other, nore uncomfortable me aspect of the concept youre bringing up is that the RINO count has arguably gone up under Trump, with alleged conservatives and libertarians being protectionist, gibs minded, and even sometimes rights ambivalent

2019-08-04 20:13:30 UTC

All democrats believe in what they demand. Its just that they start believing in it when it gets popular. Gabbard didnt talk about reperations before it was a talking point. I agree with the second part of your statement, Im not sure if those are republicans turning away from what they believed or wether those are new rightists who joint the right around the time of 2016 because the left didnt fight for their socio economic group anymore, but who never belieeved in constitutional rights in the first place.

2019-08-04 20:18:37 UTC

I think politicians should be considered based on their actions not their words

2019-08-04 20:19:07 UTC

If they didn't push a reperations bill before running, why believe they would if elected

2019-08-04 21:04:51 UTC

Anyone know where they are streaming tonight D-live vs Youtube?

2019-08-04 21:06:20 UTC

I wonder if he got the CNN strike removed

2019-08-04 21:08:39 UTC

Matt said on his Twitter that his YT streaming was restored

2019-08-04 21:08:45 UTC

He posted on youtube yesterday
