@DJ_Anuz, i am not saying that YT is superior in any way. In many ways, they are a dinosaur. When it comes right down to it everything is about money. The other tech platforms went under because a competitor came along as took away their customer base by putting out a superior product. However, not single alt-tech platform seems to understand basic economics.
Television networks all compete with EACH OTHER for the same adverting money. The rating that matters to marketing agencies isn't the number of viewers; it's MARKET SHARE. A network with 30% market share (which ONLY comapares them to other such networks) receives the same amount of money whether they have is 30% of 1 billion TOTAL viewers or 10K TOTAL viewers.
@ManAnimal just because none of the alt tech platforms now can't compete with YouTube doesn't mean that one won't come around. Once enough people are fed up with YouTube that enough of the initiated begin looking for an alternative you will see a more worthy replacement show up. Blockchain is the answer imo to make a YouTube esque platform profitable.
I agree. Blockchain is the key. But the market doesn't have the effect of pulling people away from the current market leader if competitors aren't take a piece of theiir pie in terms of revenue.
The coporate people paying Google to advertise just don't have the metrics to feel any feedback from the people no longer on their radar.
Worse, the money corporations spend advertising can't be directly related to their performace so unless those corporations are offered an alternative place to show ads, it will remain status quo.
YT an insignificant service compared to the service which powers it: AdSense. When corporations pay Google to show ads, they just dont' go to YT; they go EVeRYWHERE using the adSense plugin.
And the AdSense model powers the economics of the web. As long as competitors focus more on viewers/users at the expense of the business case, companies like Google will always have all the money they need to squash the little guy.
YouTube doesn't make money, YouTube loses money. YouTube exists because Google finds value in the data they collect. You cannot create a YouTube competitor as a centralized business, it would need to be a FOSS service
it is also common for a company to want to own a market share for future profits
like twitch

@Peachpanther your thoughts?
Vid.me failed because hosting and serving all that data is the real killer

I'd be down to take it over less for the port. I'm more into land myself so yea, let's.
@Peachpanther the reason I think it because if the bad protest people took it they get supplies from foreign investors
