I'm late to the game, what is going on with YouTube? What changes did they make that is getting all these people deplatformed?

They updated the TOS 2/3? weeks ago to make terminology about content guidelines even more vague, and stated that they would be applying rules about content made for children to any channels they deem kids might watch, and if you break those rules you're toast, and that if they don't think your channel is commercially viable (ie they constantly demonetize you even though you rake in super chats and have sponsors and thus YT could clearly make money off you if they just wanted to play ball) then they will ban you.

ie, they can will fuck over anyone and every one any damn time they please without any warning and you don't get an appeal and your content is gone forever.

i really like jeremy jahns for movie reviews. no idea what his politics are but he calls out overly woke shit and overbearing political messages.

Speaking of the 'I have no idea of his politics, but the channel is pretty good' I would have to recommend Jay Exci for that. He certainly doesn't have a problem with calling out wokeness, but it's not clear if he's doing that because of his politics or because woke products tend to be shit.
