I don't think any of the Lucas 6 were perfect films. I can pick them all apart.

I think history will be kinder to those movies. Well, that has already begun.

I think Hayden Christiansen did a good job with what he was given.

I think the Prequels would have benefited from another director in the chair. There is a reason why Empire is the best in the series.

Jar Jar is a great example. He sucked, and Lucas gave us what we wanted. Lucas gave us a real in story reason to hate him (he is the senator that gave Palpatine his power), and then Lucas just wrote him out of Revenge all together.

I don't think Menace was bad. I actually think Attack of the Clones was a worse movie.

ROS took a giant steaming shit on the Skywalker saga. It had more plot holes than a cheese grater and more Deus Ex Machina than the Ten Commandments. They completely broke The Force because they disregarded all previous lore, even the newly limited Disney-canon lore, about how The Force works and why, leaving themselves literally no where to go with the story as their Mary-Sue-cum-Omnipotent-Goddess leaves no room for any narrative tension. Aside from the so-far-so-good Mandalorian, StarWars is fucking dead.

The reason why I hate it, more so than any other reason, is that this story completely ruins Anakin's entire story arch.

If Palpatine survives the Death Star, then the Force was never brought into balance, and Anakin wasn't the chosen one.

Like, Lucas's writes the script, he produces, he's on set everyday, just like during Empire, but he has, fucking, Ridley Scott, or Kenneth Branagh sitting in the chair, working with the actors, coaxing the best performances out of them.

I think with a better director, Hayden and Natalie Portman might have actually had some chemistry...
