if that means anything

2020-02-03 01:12:46 UTC

Im going to get another SSD and then be 100% linux on my gaming computer soon

2020-02-03 01:12:55 UTC

I loved the crap out of it honestly

2020-02-03 01:13:04 UTC

but I couldn't get a lot of my .exe files to open right

2020-02-03 01:13:12 UTC

also playing steam games and stuff was super difficult

2020-02-03 01:13:47 UTC

I have never done it but you can do something where youll get seamless windows virtual machine by using some "passthrough" thing that gives a virtual machine direct hardware access (i think)

2020-02-03 01:14:15 UTC

I looked into it but eventually I just settled for getting windows to share half of everything haha

2020-02-03 01:14:28 UTC

If I have the time I'm planning on getting into it more

2020-02-03 01:14:31 UTC

Yeah it takes a bit of setup I believe

2020-02-03 01:14:45 UTC

I want to be 100% linux in a couple months and then ill use a VM for gaming if needed

2020-02-03 01:14:47 UTC

I'll make a youtube video out of it if I figure it out and get a decent amount of views I bet

2020-02-03 01:16:26 UTC

of course that wouldn't be why I make it, just saying.

2020-02-03 01:16:48 UTC

Already plenty of videos on it I think

2020-02-03 01:19:19 UTC

really? I'll have to find it then

2020-02-03 01:19:33 UTC

Search "how to make a gaming virtual machine"

2020-02-03 01:20:10 UTC

@Legalize
What's the best drive format type if you're going to share a drive between Linux and Windows?

2020-02-03 01:20:25 UTC

looking at the hardware side of things would that be more intensive than just regularly playing it through steam on windows or about the same?

2020-02-03 01:20:28 UTC

or less somehow

2020-02-03 01:20:43 UTC

@Legalize
And won't you get a lot of lag if gaming this way?

2020-02-03 01:20:45 UTC

Format?

2020-02-03 01:20:58 UTC

Exfat. Ntsf etc.

2020-02-03 01:21:02 UTC

@EpsilonEagle if you set it up the right way youll get a TINY bit of lag on mordern hardware

2020-02-03 01:21:12 UTC

@EpsilonEagle idk google it, I cant remember

2020-02-03 01:21:46 UTC

Copy that. I normally would, I just thought I'd ask while here. Thanks.

2020-02-03 01:22:02 UTC

gaming vms blew my mind when i first saw them

2020-02-03 01:22:10 UTC

I was like "that cant be real"

2020-02-03 01:22:34 UTC

they are pretty cool, I am typically a fan of the console emulators myself

2020-02-03 01:22:54 UTC

this superbowl halftime show is the single most obnoxious thing ive ever seen on television

2020-02-03 01:22:57 UTC

I'd just like it if somehow they could make it so gaming on linux wouldn't be more taxing that it is on windows

2020-02-03 01:23:05 UTC

I'm not even watching the superbowl

2020-02-03 01:23:25 UTC

Linux gaming is possible with a gaming vm

2020-02-03 01:23:37 UTC

me neither, but my mom is for some reason even though she doesnt care for sports

2020-02-03 01:23:46 UTC

with Wine yeah lol

2020-02-03 01:24:13 UTC

possible yes, but with the same efficiency as like, steam on windows?

2020-02-03 01:24:19 UTC

or just on windows at all I guess

2020-02-03 01:24:40 UTC

like your pc isn't chugging harder for having to use a VM to play a game compared to normally on windows or something

2020-02-03 01:24:42 UTC

Naw you dont use wine

2020-02-03 01:24:59 UTC

>Gab chat
>not Telegram

2020-02-03 01:25:00 UTC

Just use Samba.

2020-02-03 01:25:08 UTC

I watched a video about Pop OS being basically Steam ready. Don't know how stable all the games are, but they made it sound like it's would run.
