if that means anything
Im going to get another SSD and then be 100% linux on my gaming computer soon
I loved the crap out of it honestly
but I couldn't get a lot of my .exe files to open right
also playing steam games and stuff was super difficult
I have never done it but you can do something where youll get seamless windows virtual machine by using some "passthrough" thing that gives a virtual machine direct hardware access (i think)
I looked into it but eventually I just settled for getting windows to share half of everything haha
If I have the time I'm planning on getting into it more
Yeah it takes a bit of setup I believe
I want to be 100% linux in a couple months and then ill use a VM for gaming if needed
I'll make a youtube video out of it if I figure it out and get a decent amount of views I bet
of course that wouldn't be why I make it, just saying.
Already plenty of videos on it I think
really? I'll have to find it then
Search "how to make a gaming virtual machine"
@Legalize
What's the best drive format type if you're going to share a drive between Linux and Windows?
looking at the hardware side of things would that be more intensive than just regularly playing it through steam on windows or about the same?
or less somehow
@Legalize
And won't you get a lot of lag if gaming this way?
Format?
@EpsilonEagle if you set it up the right way youll get a TINY bit of lag on mordern hardware
@EpsilonEagle idk google it, I cant remember
Copy that. I normally would, I just thought I'd ask while here. Thanks.
gaming vms blew my mind when i first saw them
I was like "that cant be real"
they are pretty cool, I am typically a fan of the console emulators myself
this superbowl halftime show is the single most obnoxious thing ive ever seen on television
I'd just like it if somehow they could make it so gaming on linux wouldn't be more taxing that it is on windows
I'm not even watching the superbowl
Linux gaming is possible with a gaming vm
me neither, but my mom is for some reason even though she doesnt care for sports
with Wine yeah lol
possible yes, but with the same efficiency as like, steam on windows?
or just on windows at all I guess
like your pc isn't chugging harder for having to use a VM to play a game compared to normally on windows or something
Naw you dont use wine
>Gab chat
>not Telegram
Just use Samba.
I watched a video about Pop OS being basically Steam ready. Don't know how stable all the games are, but they made it sound like it's would run.
