They sell for like 20 dollars
lmao
When they're just bought in quantitiy and put in a bag.
@fbn Wish fbn would answer me
<@135743726789197824> if you scroll up, i asked first, and fbn already answered "yes", it's an anet a8
serves him right for posting a 3d printer. it's just going to invite a lot of curious questions
:3
Oh my bad
I did a quick skim
Fuark
I was so close yesterday to pulling the trigger on one
are you looking to get into the hobby for fun and profit too
it's a nice cheap beginner's kit
Yeah
my next is gonna be a corexy thing though
I've already picked out all the upgrades
Oh
a lot of the upgrades are sorta big
A reprap?
how big is the build volume on that?
the anet is a prusa-style printer, the biggest difference between the prusa and the corexy is the fact that the bed is stationary on the corexy
Yeah
Well the anet is just a carbon copy of the Prusa i3, but the frame is acrylic
I'm attracted to the Anet for a while because of how large the community is for it
yup and it may be tempting to get an aluminium frame
but i think it's better to just either leapfrog the whole community for corexy (which is growing in popularity) or learn everything you want on the anet and eventually upgrade to an original prusa i3
Yeah
Or the mk2
or mk3 or mk4 or whatever it is by then
the multi-stepper extruder head thing for quad filament is a big motivator but it does seem like an incremental step
anyway yeah anet a8 is great
you should just go for it. worth the price.
don't print ABS and you won't worry about heatbed issues
Just would cry at the thought of waiting so long for it to come and then sometihng being broken
don't be an idiot and the board won't catch on fire
Would just replace the heatbed
it only took 2 or 3 weeks and i ordered it just before christmas
the problem isn't the heatbed so much as inadequate cooling and sizing for the amount of current that runs into the heatbed** circuitry
since PLA doesn't require the heatbed to be on, that
is a nonissue
Well
