2017-02-01 15:44:28 UTC

2017-02-01 15:44:34 UTC

Makes me fucking laugh when I see Mechanical Keyboard o-rings on Ebay and shit

2017-02-01 15:44:46 UTC

They sell for like 20 dollars

2017-02-01 15:44:53 UTC

2017-02-01 15:44:55 UTC

When they're just bought in quantitiy and put in a bag.

2017-02-01 15:46:38 UTC

@fbn Wish fbn would answer me

2017-02-01 16:21:02 UTC

<@135743726789197824> if you scroll up, i asked first, and fbn already answered "yes", it's an anet a8

2017-02-01 16:21:26 UTC

serves him right for posting a 3d printer. it's just going to invite a lot of curious questions

2017-02-01 16:21:30 UTC

:3

2017-02-01 16:21:44 UTC

Oh my bad

2017-02-01 16:21:47 UTC

I did a quick skim

2017-02-01 16:21:51 UTC

Fuark

2017-02-01 16:21:58 UTC

I was so close yesterday to pulling the trigger on one

2017-02-01 16:22:02 UTC

are you looking to get into the hobby for fun and profit too

2017-02-01 16:22:14 UTC

it's a nice cheap beginner's kit

2017-02-01 16:22:17 UTC

Yeah

2017-02-01 16:22:25 UTC

my next is gonna be a corexy thing though

2017-02-01 16:22:26 UTC

I've already picked out all the upgrades

2017-02-01 16:22:50 UTC

Oh

2017-02-01 16:22:52 UTC

a lot of the upgrades are sorta big

2017-02-01 16:23:00 UTC

A reprap?

2017-02-01 16:23:25 UTC

how big is the build volume on that?

2017-02-01 16:23:51 UTC

the anet is a prusa-style printer, the biggest difference between the prusa and the corexy is the fact that the bed is stationary on the corexy

2017-02-01 16:23:57 UTC

Yeah

2017-02-01 16:24:29 UTC

Well the anet is just a carbon copy of the Prusa i3, but the frame is acrylic

2017-02-01 16:24:49 UTC

I'm attracted to the Anet for a while because of how large the community is for it

2017-02-01 16:24:52 UTC

yup and it may be tempting to get an aluminium frame

2017-02-01 16:25:45 UTC

but i think it's better to just either leapfrog the whole community for corexy (which is growing in popularity) or learn everything you want on the anet and eventually upgrade to an original prusa i3

2017-02-01 16:25:57 UTC

Yeah

2017-02-01 16:26:00 UTC

Or the mk2

2017-02-01 16:26:11 UTC

or mk3 or mk4 or whatever it is by then

2017-02-01 16:26:55 UTC

the multi-stepper extruder head thing for quad filament is a big motivator but it does seem like an incremental step

2017-02-01 16:27:23 UTC

anyway yeah anet a8 is great

2017-02-01 16:27:31 UTC

you should just go for it. worth the price.

2017-02-01 16:27:43 UTC

don't print ABS and you won't worry about heatbed issues
