The terminal should test @ 12V

2017-02-04 14:23:17 UTC

Set it to the 'V' setting with the straight line above the V (DC direct voltage)

2017-02-04 14:23:49 UTC

Make sure the red and black leads go to Low Voltage and COM

2017-02-04 14:24:53 UTC

Though polarity doesn't matter much here; the absolute value should read somewhere in the range of 12.0V +/- 0.5 or so

2017-02-04 14:26:04 UTC

Yup

2017-02-04 14:26:22 UTC

Nice Harbour Freight centech meter 😃 I approve

2017-02-04 14:26:49 UTC

Eh? That's a $2 Chinkmeter.

2017-02-04 14:26:56 UTC

I know, 'cause I have one.

2017-02-04 14:26:59 UTC

Or free

2017-02-04 14:27:21 UTC

It works

2017-02-04 14:27:44 UTC

I only use it to check for continuity and sometimes voltages, so it certainly does the trick.

2017-02-04 14:27:55 UTC

How just put the two leads into the screw terminal going to the extruder

2017-02-04 14:28:03 UTC

And see what the voltage reads

2017-02-04 14:28:44 UTC

12.5V

2017-02-04 14:29:54 UTC

Well

2017-02-04 14:32:33 UTC

how viable are chinese solar cells?

2017-02-04 14:32:41 UTC

Guess that wasn't the problem them ffs

2017-02-04 14:33:41 UTC

@myuutsu last time i checked they were world leader on the manufacturing and marketing them ?

2017-02-04 14:33:55 UTC

tho that was 1-2 years back or even more

2017-02-04 14:35:16 UTC

@Tervy I wouldn't mind to fabricate my own solar panel

2017-02-04 14:35:29 UTC

Series of solar panels together

2017-02-04 14:35:33 UTC

far as i know the process is quite toxic ***

2017-02-04 14:35:37 UTC

no no no

2017-02-04 14:35:52 UTC

Combine many together

2017-02-04 14:35:57 UTC

ahh

2017-02-04 14:36:04 UTC

Try to go for 2A+

2017-02-04 14:36:37 UTC

for china stuff.. err i think the company name was Suntech/solartech or something

2017-02-04 14:36:47 UTC

For bonus make sure the psu is also outputting 12V and if not calibrate it

2017-02-04 14:36:53 UTC

then there was some taiwanese company named neo solar power

2017-02-04 14:37:24 UTC

But yeah time to open a case to get a replacement extruder head

2017-02-04 14:40:25 UTC

@shadowedROM ye I opened a ticket at Gb

2017-02-04 14:40:31 UTC

So it needs to be in parallel

2017-02-04 14:40:39 UTC

For 5V, whatever A

2017-02-04 14:40:54 UTC

I'd like to be able to charge some power banks in emergency

2017-02-04 14:44:42 UTC

like this, but not so much

https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/189466684938125312/277449361695309835/unknown.png

2017-02-04 14:46:45 UTC

cheaper probly to get somekind of basic kit

2017-02-04 14:46:49 UTC

15-30w

2017-02-04 14:47:14 UTC

and get charge controller for it to input that current

2017-02-04 14:47:23 UTC

Also, when they say something like 0.86A output
