I tried switching Mi Fit for Gadgetbridge and now notifications don't fucking work.

It doesn't bother maintaining a connection to the mi band.

The notifications were more important than anything for me, since I usually leave my phone off on the bed and never notice when I'm texted.

Now I never notice anyways/.
