bet it'll be extremely useful in enterprise levels
and on larger sets it punishes the HDD quite badly
(always doublechecking hashes and if hashes match then it checks possible other things)
sure current languages could make it far better
also it breaks if its DB file is manualy removed
then you need to run initialization scan again
its just far easier to use software like dupeguru or such
and make timed rule for week at 8am
instead scanning all new created files instantly
man I cant believe this old HDD I bought is 8 years old
and it's still ticking
avg HDD takes around 3-4 years worth of hours (online) before it starts breaking
from personal experience
yeah
I know
had one wiht 6 years
I have one that's like 10 years old
maybe more
ran like a beaty until one day it just didnt wake from its slumber anymore
;_;
6 years as in runtime hours
didn't have the heart to throw it away
not as in made 6 years ago
i wonder how many years those chinkshit ssds will do
I used it like 4 years tbh so it probably clocked like 2-3 (I'm really bad at turning my computer off)
they do
Ever since I switched to muh samshit SSD I can't use computers with HDDs any more
too slow
RW-times are limited for nand
even tho that "limit" is something ridiculous
but they still wear
physicalfor those memoryblocks
less writes = more lifetime
You can basically abuse your SSD and when it's done it will be outdated af either way
20gb per day written everyday for 5 years
and they start breaking
and the new Samshit ones have a 10 year guarantee, don't they?
so .. it takes quite long time
the old ones have a 5 year guarantee
i think my savage had 5 year warranty
