which is a bit shit

2017-06-25 21:54:04 UTC

it exists and is absolutely beautiful

2017-06-25 21:54:06 UTC

not cheap though

2017-06-25 21:54:08 UTC

fucking gimps

2017-06-25 21:54:34 UTC

also it smells about how you'd expect

2017-06-25 21:54:38 UTC

like a murky algae bloom lake

2017-06-25 21:54:49 UTC

so it smells like swamp muck

2017-06-25 21:54:50 UTC

no but when you print it

2017-06-25 21:54:53 UTC

you smell the algae

2017-06-25 21:55:06 UTC

i mean it is literally swamp muck mixed into pla

2017-06-25 21:55:09 UTC

so

2017-06-25 21:55:24 UTC

i was just about to say

2017-06-25 21:55:31 UTC

sounds practical

2017-06-25 21:55:32 UTC

hit start on that shit and stick my head under it, mouth open

2017-06-25 21:55:40 UTC

it's really beautiful stuff though

2017-06-25 21:55:44 UTC

it looks like clay

2017-06-25 21:55:53 UTC

the finished print does

2017-06-25 21:55:53 UTC

FUCK ME THERES A NEW MAGISK

2017-06-25 21:55:55 UTC

why cant you 3d print with clay

2017-06-25 21:56:04 UTC

you can

2017-06-25 21:56:12 UTC

just not on a normal fdm machine meant for plastics

2017-06-25 21:56:12 UTC

COME HERE @transience YOU CUM RAG

2017-06-25 21:56:26 UTC

also it's slow since the effector needs to be really heavy to support an extruder strong enough to squeeze out clay

2017-06-25 21:56:50 UTC

u wot <:chink:323022148870602752>

2017-06-25 21:56:51 UTC

it would just need a different extruder?

2017-06-25 21:56:55 UTC

you'd need proper rails and lead screws on all axes, not a couple steel shafts and a belt

2017-06-25 21:57:29 UTC

you'd basically be building a biiig milling machine but with a extruder instead of a spindle

2017-06-25 21:57:55 UTC

Wait

2017-06-25 21:57:57 UTC

which part is the effector

2017-06-25 21:58:10 UTC

the effector's the bit with the working part mount on it

2017-06-25 21:58:14 UTC

the part that moves

2017-06-25 21:58:27 UTC

Oh

2017-06-25 21:59:08 UTC

a clay extruder would look something like a filament extruder, but you'd need a much stronger motor driving the augur and a hopper that can support the weight

2017-06-25 21:59:16 UTC

since yknow clay is pretty heavy

2017-06-25 21:59:30 UTC

ohhh

2017-06-25 21:59:53 UTC

it's just really not practical to print clay

2017-06-25 21:59:57 UTC

the point being that you need a clay delivery system

2017-06-25 22:00:00 UTC

to the effector

2017-06-25 22:00:09 UTC

yeah

2017-06-25 22:00:19 UTC

i guess you could run the clay through a tube but that'd be unreliable
