looks like 0201 or 0402

2017-07-12 10:01:50 UTC

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

2017-07-12 10:02:14 UTC

i think the smallest parts i have are 0603

2017-07-12 10:03:01 UTC

do you know those transistor tester kits

2017-07-12 10:03:05 UTC

I don't even have a hot air gun, let alone a reflow oven, so it's not a real concern for me in any case.

2017-07-12 10:03:47 UTC
2017-07-12 10:03:48 UTC

that was fun to solder

2017-07-12 10:05:44 UTC

it did work in the end so that was nice

2017-07-12 10:05:46 UTC
2017-07-12 10:05:51 UTC

Nice.

2017-07-12 10:06:06 UTC

I've been looking at those kits.

2017-07-12 10:06:18 UTC

Not that I need a component tester per se.

2017-07-12 10:06:31 UTC

But unlike most of those kits, it's actually useful.

2017-07-12 10:06:38 UTC

_not that i need ..._ goes for pretty much everything i buy

2017-07-12 10:06:50 UTC

Not just a hideous clock that goes out of sync in a matter of hours.

2017-07-12 10:06:54 UTC

Spoke to IBuyGou about the Note 4 64gb Global version, they say it has been delayed for the time being and they don't know when it will actually come out "I guess maybe because the new product. It's said that xiaomi will released a new phone at the end of this month." They speculate it's been delayed because of the Xiaomi Lanmi (Blue Rice) "Not sure the final name, but it should be that phone." they also added that this new line won't phase out the Redmi instead it will be a more expensive line of phones "It said that it should be more expensive than Redmi phones. The new phone may have the similar price with Mi 6." @onoderaSecurity @Make @Deleted User @Phatique

2017-07-12 10:08:06 UTC

i'll just see a part and go _oh it's like $2 for 100 of them and maybe i'll need some in the future so better order now and not have to wait when i do_

2017-07-12 10:08:47 UTC

Yeah.

2017-07-12 10:08:53 UTC

please god let there be a 5" lanmi versionj

2017-07-12 10:08:57 UTC

with USB-C and NFC

2017-07-12 10:09:10 UTC

then you get 20 ATtiny84's, the seller is too cheap to send them in a tube, they arrive with half the pins bent and aliexpress gives you a 50% refund <:alismirk:230784726615588865> <:aliOK:251417852156837888>

2017-07-12 10:09:20 UTC

😄

2017-07-12 10:10:08 UTC

Been looking to buy some knock-off Arduino stuff.

2017-07-12 10:10:32 UTC

roboduino or whatever their name is makes the best ones i believe, but they're slightly more expensive than the very cheapest ones

2017-07-12 10:11:31 UTC

Eh. I think for my current needs... even the stuff I'm looking at is way, way overkill.

2017-07-12 10:11:32 UTC

@Phatique probably will

2017-07-12 10:13:00 UTC
2017-07-12 10:13:05 UTC

you can never have enough microcontrollers

2017-07-12 10:14:14 UTC

I wonder if those ATtiny84s would be sufficient for my needs. Hm hm.

2017-07-12 10:14:52 UTC

Actually, feck it. I just want the HID stack ease of the Leonardo type boards.

2017-07-12 10:15:15 UTC

someone wrote a usb implementation for those attiny85's

2017-07-12 10:16:46 UTC

the usb stick at the top and the cheapo pcb usb port in the middle are actually attiny85's too

2017-07-12 10:17:43 UTC

Hm hm.

2017-07-12 10:18:27 UTC

I have two projects in mind at the moment. Firstly, I bought a tenkeyless mech, and realized I actually *did* use the numpad.

2017-07-12 10:18:50 UTC

Or rather, 3-4 of the buttons. To control LiveSplit. 😄

2017-07-12 10:19:17 UTC

As such, a custom li'l speedrunning USB device that just sends some easy-peasy keystrokes would be neato.

2017-07-12 10:20:13 UTC

I was also a bit pissed. I ordered a small batch of microswitches from a vendor on Ali. The only one that sold them. (Knockoff OMRON B3FS-1000)

2017-07-12 10:20:21 UTC

They removed them from their inventory after I placed the order. :/

2017-07-12 10:20:51 UTC

So my plan to check them out and order more if they met my requirements... poof. Out the window.

2017-07-12 10:21:07 UTC

you could get one of the digispark things then, since they come with the usb connector on the pcb

2017-07-12 10:21:22 UTC

and with the v-usb library you can emulate a keyboard
