how would you ever control linux with a comfy controller

2017-07-16 19:17:59 UTC

who the fuck wants to use mouse and keyboard on the couch

2017-07-16 19:18:03 UTC

those little bluetooth keyboard+touchpad things work well enough

2017-07-16 19:18:04 UTC

wtf i dont get lincucks

2017-07-16 19:18:27 UTC

@fedora bit late but yeah, postnl won't update the tracking code very fast. it ships from wherever to the netherlands, and then they ship it to you

2017-07-16 19:18:35 UTC

the fastest way to get a working code is to ask them on twitter

2017-07-16 19:18:36 UTC
2017-07-16 19:18:36 UTC

yah me neither

2017-07-16 19:18:37 UTC

using the tv box as an emulator with retroarch also, works good

2017-07-16 19:18:37 UTC

no joke

2017-07-16 19:18:48 UTC

woooah that's neat

2017-07-16 19:18:49 UTC

@Goz3rr what would i need to ask

2017-07-16 19:18:50 UTC

they'll convert the chink tracking code to one for their internal system

2017-07-16 19:18:54 UTC

i would mostly use plex tho

2017-07-16 19:18:57 UTC

@Kaytee and those have linux drivers?

2017-07-16 19:18:58 UTC

have everything there

2017-07-16 19:19:26 UTC

@Phatique linux hardware support on any remotely common desktop or server hardware hasn't been a real issue for like a decade lol

2017-07-16 19:19:53 UTC

yeah sure its not a problem if you want to sit and semi-code on the fucking terminal for 2 hours

2017-07-16 19:19:57 UTC

wacom is a weird exception but that barely even works on windows and osx so doesnt matter

2017-07-16 19:20:10 UTC

@Phatique nah linux desktop is nicer and easier than windows these days

2017-07-16 19:20:25 UTC

t. linux user

2017-07-16 19:20:38 UTC

like "i taught an 80 year old man who'd never used a computer before to use it" easy

2017-07-16 19:21:33 UTC

linux is better for a facebook and email machine

2017-07-16 19:21:40 UTC

installed linux and plugged in my usb headset, it refused to work, literally the linux experience.

2017-07-16 19:21:41 UTC

t. wincuck myself

2017-07-16 19:22:01 UTC

literally two things windows is better at: cad/cam and aaa gaming

2017-07-16 19:22:13 UTC

even for gaming if you're into indie gaming linux is mostly fine

2017-07-16 19:22:46 UTC

had ubuntu installed, plugged in my phone trough usb

2017-07-16 19:22:52 UTC

"no drivers for this phone"

2017-07-16 19:22:55 UTC

cad/cam i make do but it's the only thing outside aaa games i've found to be a huge pain in the ass outside windows

2017-07-16 19:23:01 UTC

cant access my files on the phone

2017-07-16 19:23:05 UTC

linux experience

2017-07-16 19:23:13 UTC

when you installed did you check the box for closed source drivers

2017-07-16 19:23:26 UTC

googled everything

2017-07-16 19:23:51 UTC

found forum posts with the same problem

2017-07-16 19:23:58 UTC

everytime i had a linux problem

2017-07-16 19:24:05 UTC

dozens of forums posts with people with the same problem

2017-07-16 19:25:03 UTC

and i dont have the patience for coding in the terminal for hours for something simple to work so i said fuckit and deleted it from my drive

2017-07-16 19:25:15 UTC

well yeah, and when i was trying to get my wacom tablet working on *nix i found that too, and they were all like "yeah nah this person's maintaining open source drivers for that, nothing really ships with them but just grab em off this github and youre good"

2017-07-16 19:25:40 UTC

usually they even throw a one line copy/pasteable command at you too

2017-07-16 19:26:49 UTC

anyway i stand by that, cheap pc with ubanto or i guess win10 if you swing that way > android tv box
