it does say on the page "it temporary supports English and Chinese language"

If I remember right the global ROM goes right into English

No Chinese option from what I remember

It's fairly light on chinkery too

My old Lenovo K3 note had tons of chink malware apps you couldn't uninstall

so that's the Chinese ROM only for now

5x has the worse battery

it has lineage rom, so id be cool with that right

Mi 5x doesn't have Lineage (yet) it just came out

the looks are pretty important for me

so that's going to take a long while
