Hm.
Yeah I bought a TON of Hugsby XP-1 fuckers.
AAA as well. Burn through the battery in like an hour tops. It's great.
Same could be said for that switch though. Feckin thing is unreliable on a couple of them.
Not my problem though, ultimately, as I gave all but one away to friends and family. 😄
Seems like a good option that I've somehow entierly missed
Thanks
I exaggerate about the switch though. The two were a bit off compared to the others, that's all. One was very sensitive, but the guy I gave it to didn't mind.
"This shit for morse code stuff?"
Ie. he'd press it lightly and it'd turn off. You know.
>not being a covert operative with chinkshit equipment
Actually, the first one I bought as a trial was a knockoff.
Warmer colour LED than the others.
p sure most of them are knockoffs at this point
i still use them though
"Mixxar" rather than "Hugsby" print. I like it better though.
@Windatica Wouldn't surprise me, actually.
Convoy has an AAA one as well, but I don't like the back end of that.
I searched for that "BLF-314" but only got a lawnchair and a picture of an airliner.
kek This is the one. http://budgetlightforum.com/node/50034
314... 348. You fucking rascal!
Hey I didn't remember
Looks good though.
I prefer the understated look.
Feckin going around with something that looks like a cyborg dildo... no thanks.
The manufacturer makes something with the same numbers that's always available
I also have access to both CNC lathe and mill, could I make my own housing and put Hugsby internals inside without knowing any electrical engineering or soldering?
You could just mill the tube bit and steal the lighty end and the switchy end.
That was kind of the plan. Make it sleeker yet grippy.
👍
I have no idea how much effort it would take to extract the guts from the switch.
The LED end is a lot easier to disassemble though, it's just all jammed in there without any adhesives.
At most I'd do patterns with knurling
welp
Wait, I lie.
I was thinking of just the glass and the reflector.
The LED assembly is stuck in some other bit of kit.
On the other hand I guess I could go the other route and make the entire flashlight myself with a 50W LED and the entire housing acting as passive cooler?
50w is a lot. 😄
