I use a separate 5V power source, one that plugs straight into a wall outlet

maybe just something that plugs into a usb port

i bought the somake after the 'changes' were made

and it worked well enough

yeah, if both ends have USB power then 2x the power lad

it sounds like ass most of the time and is only suitable for meme kid gaymers

nothing complex about setting it up anyway

and it works great
