yes and their power is limited by design

even if you got a high powered sooped up baofeng you'd be fine using PMR, that's what it's there for, for non-autistic use

some countries have powerlimit on top of PMR446

so that you can use it but cant broadcast with niggawat range

and that powerlimit can "nicely" block out all "professional" stuff

source: finland used to have such powerlimit (and kind of still has)

then we have RHA68 aka "pay the fee to use the fucking air as you please

no license test required

what is quite bullshit if you think about it

powerlimit on those being around 25W for group A (organisations) and 5w for rest of us iirc

then there is countries like germany what only allow 500milliWatts on air
