That is what makes a ThinkPad a ThinkPad.

2017-10-15 03:00:34 UTC

Lmao what the fuck did Lenovo do to it?

2017-10-15 03:00:38 UTC

It's a device that should be able to survive a coffee spill

2017-10-15 03:00:56 UTC

>no way to buy that little book separately

2017-10-15 03:01:00 UTC

It's a device that should survive being dropped down a flight of stairs

2017-10-15 03:01:02 UTC

looks interesting

2017-10-15 03:01:12 UTC

Not a fucking fashion accessory like the T25

2017-10-15 03:01:18 UTC

would read a book about Thinkpad

2017-10-15 03:01:23 UTC

come on noe

2017-10-15 03:01:32 UTC

The REAL retro ThinkPad is the T70, not the T25

2017-10-15 03:03:24 UTC

As Louis Rossmann put it, they've thrown us a bone.

2017-10-15 03:03:48 UTC

This is a shitty old T470

2017-10-15 03:03:56 UTC

With a new board

2017-10-15 03:04:05 UTC

And some fancy packaging that costs them $15 more

2017-10-15 03:08:17 UTC

>buy one
>put in locker
1 year later resell $10000

2017-10-15 03:08:19 UTC

I don't get it, is it the price that bothers people?

2017-10-15 03:08:38 UTC

Doesn't it do the same mediocre job ThinkPad's always did?

2017-10-15 03:09:19 UTC

oh wait, does it have expresscard v3 or thunderbolt 3

2017-10-15 03:12:36 UTC

No

2017-10-15 03:14:09 UTC

@johnfrum it's more overpriced than the MacBook Pro, and incompatible with Linux, and has the most poxy shitty little CPU in the Kaby Lake lineup

2017-10-15 03:15:07 UTC

Buys still better than the T70, right?

2017-10-15 03:17:28 UTC

About the same price as the T70, you lose the GPU for better 4:3, design, 7700HQ, dual M.2+dual HDD/SSD, etc

2017-10-15 03:21:07 UTC

Seems kind of pointlessly shitty

2017-10-15 03:21:48 UTC

I mean, it sucks but it doesn't seem that bad.

2017-10-15 03:23:06 UTC

It's just an insult shrug

2017-10-15 03:25:17 UTC

If it's still about as durable I don't see a problem

2017-10-15 03:25:48 UTC

It's not as durable

2017-10-15 03:25:58 UTC

X220 can handle a coffee spill

2017-10-15 03:26:05 UTC

X240 cannot

2017-10-15 03:29:31 UTC

Hai guize

2017-10-15 03:29:40 UTC

im pickel rick

2017-10-15 03:31:23 UTC

Huh, kind of weird that they would get rid of what is probably the cheapest durability enhancement

2017-10-15 03:32:45 UTC

I'm asking in the thread as well but has anyone tries buying one of the 2-3$ wireless mice?

2017-10-15 03:38:37 UTC

Has anyone bought the deathadder?

2017-10-15 03:43:19 UTC

they said the deathadder is so legit it even gets recognized by Razer's drivers

2017-10-15 03:44:24 UTC

yeah

2017-10-15 03:44:39 UTC

but whats the point of buying it?

2017-10-15 03:48:06 UTC

As I wrote in my second post you can find it for the same price in western stores

2017-10-15 03:48:59 UTC

I'm just a newfag so maybe I'm being completely oblivious to the way the general works, maybe you buy them in the thousands and plan to resell them or something

2017-10-15 03:49:08 UTC

altho that doesn't sound realistic

2017-10-15 03:52:31 UTC

If you can find it locally for the same price as online then buy it. Most can't or will wait for sales and coupons.
