why is it every time i find a smartphone that looks interesting and hits all the spec points they've got some shitty garbo mediatek that's comparable to a snapdragon 400

is it worth buying one of these voice controlled alexas for 30gbp on black friday? I only want it for playing songs/controlling my lights in bed. Is there a chink alternative?

e.g. the KenXinDa lineup is full of phones with great sounding paper specs, global LTE, but they all use MT6737

Alexas are super easy to use

If there isn't I feel like Xiaomi will make a voice controlled thing soon...

but @bap i highly doubt there's going to be a comparable chinese voice assistant to the alexas for a while, just like the eReaders amazon subsidizes them by getting you to use their services, you can't do that globally with chinese products
