fucking russian bots
okay for real why is https://www.geekbuying.com/item/Original-YI-M1-WiFi-4K-Digital-Camera-with-Dual-Lenses---Black-372970.html listed as a xiaomi product in hot deals
a lot of resellers seem to do this, putting "xiaomi" on shit that doesn't seem to have anything to do with xiaomi
is there a reason for this? do they have tons of sub-brands that it's hard to find information about?
maybe its a collaboration
@Adam W https://www.gearbest.com/screwdriver-screwdriver-set/pp_696715.html they did it with this
its made solely by Wiha but its a collab between them and Xiaomi
it's fucking dumb and also gay, i've not heard of this happening outside of chink shit and it feels like a way to chink people into believing they're buying a xiaomi product when they are not
@Adam W there was an explanation in a video somewhere, Xiaomi incubate small companies and cover all the QA/marketing/product launch for their products as long as they use the Xiaomi name
That's why some of them release two of the same thing eventually, one with Xiaomi branding and one with their own
🤔 that's interesting. i'll try to find the video.
So yeah Xiaomi is a collection of a lot of tiny companies
@Tribit posted it before
It's kind of a cool idea, Xiaomi is basically chinking other chinks to meet Xiaomi quality standards in exchange for their brand recognition
outside of this subject
and the end user wins the most
that camera itself seems pretty dank
yeah im liking the design
oh techmoan's done a video about it
is it a trusted reviewer?
Techmoan is trusted yeah
bit of a cunt but he's well established and knows what he's talking about
Although he's a normie, not a camerafag
Comes at it from that perspective
Just an old geezer who likes tech
he does a lot of hifi stuff which is usually pretty good
never seen a camera review of his before
Yeah I like his reviews
s
Although whenever he covers something in a video good luck finding it for a decent price again
What's the catch 🤔
the catch is either that its a shitty panel
or it might be a legitimately good deal
Is there any way to tell besides turning it on.
read/watch reviews
Correctamundo
Time to research into these "panels"
are the rumours that manufacturers will make shit low quality products, or hold back stuff that wouldn't normally pass QA, specifically to sell on black friday true?
