After you said groups, I thought it to be a rather continuous plugged in machine..

planning to add PIR sensor

so it can sense when it should wake up from sleep

and/or bluetooth broadcast detection (need to change to a esp32 for that tho)

it fetches the data from a continuous glucose monitoring device, and send out notification to group members when abnormal levels are detected. I guess you can say it's for diabetics and their relatives/caretakers.
