the chimera with the nice mounting plate finally got here

2018-03-03 20:56:42 UTC

and the auto level sensor but tbh i'll have to redo the whole bed to make this sensor work so i'll probably not even bother for a while

2018-03-03 21:01:25 UTC

Did you ever finish your fume hood?

2018-03-03 21:01:45 UTC

nah, i've mostly switched back to pla so haven't bothered

>supporting the corn jew

2018-03-03 21:03:29 UTC

>genetically engineered corn used to produce renewable biodegradeable thermoplastics

2018-03-03 21:03:32 UTC

sounds good to me tbh

2018-03-03 21:03:45 UTC

@Sapharanth ye it was on ebay lemme pull it up

2018-03-03 21:03:53 UTC

tbh I love everything about the watch

2018-03-03 21:04:10 UTC

or, I would if my first one wouldnt have started losing time

2018-03-03 21:05:37 UTC

@BIRDzone for you too

2018-03-03 21:05:41 UTC

extra free battery

2018-03-03 21:05:44 UTC

for use in 10 years

2018-03-03 21:06:22 UTC

Not really renewable as mass monoculture is almost entirely dependant on aquifer irrigation and petroleum fertilizers

2018-03-03 21:07:29 UTC

@Windatica i dont think they are giving you the best batteries to begin with

2018-03-03 21:14:20 UTC

@johnfrum more renewable than most thermoplastics since they're mostly made from petroleum and can only be recycled a handful of times before they're essentially useless

2018-03-03 22:03:27 UTC

@Julian Ah, I'd get it locally though I think, same price

2018-03-03 22:03:40 UTC

It's not genuine is it?

2018-03-03 22:03:49 UTC

I think it is

2018-03-03 22:04:04 UTC

its just a cheap watch

2018-03-03 22:04:09 UTC

nothing to chink really

2018-03-03 22:04:50 UTC

f91w is $8

2018-03-03 22:18:09 UTC

hmm

2018-03-04 00:40:24 UTC

@Kaytee Nice printer

2018-03-04 00:45:24 UTC

incomplete printer, hopefully will be nice when i'm done

2018-03-04 00:45:59 UTC

might not even keep the wanhao frame, i've seen a few people replace it with 3030 extrusion with good results

2018-03-04 00:46:43 UTC

seen one that's like a beefier taz 6, might try that

2018-03-04 00:47:10 UTC

Going to weld it?

2018-03-04 00:48:03 UTC

nah, i wanna be able to take it apart, just gonna go for big bolts

2018-03-04 00:48:20 UTC

or maybe just Many normal m4 bolts

2018-03-04 00:48:43 UTC

so i can just use the extrusion normally instead of drilling holes in it

2018-03-04 00:48:47 UTC

Ah, forgot this is a 3D printer

2018-03-04 00:49:54 UTC

Not like extrusion is expensive, I'd drill it

2018-03-04 00:50:25 UTC

also, this carriage plate makes it pretty easy to swap toolheads around... might make a laser head for it too

2018-03-04 00:53:49 UTC

looks like it'd be pretty easy to stick one of those 15W laser modules on it, still not enough to call it a proper laser cutter but it'll cut more than those dinky 500mW toys will

2018-03-04 00:54:53 UTC

Feel laser devolopment has been held back due to reactionary regulation of them.

2018-03-04 00:56:16 UTC

Are parts regulated or is it something you cant assemble yourself?

2018-03-04 00:56:18 UTC

i mean i could get a 60W laser easily enough, way more if i wanna dump money into it it's just a matter of size and weight to put on a 3d printer

2018-03-04 00:56:21 UTC

vs a whole separate machine

2018-03-04 00:57:08 UTC

also as for getting a laser module it's just a matter of simplicity
