Emisar and BLF Q8 lights have the very best UI

Yup. Emisar is all I need, but I haven't explored the extra stuff the Q8 offers.

MF04 actually looks like a good option for mountain search and rescue tbh

Ramping is awesome because you don't need to remember how many levels there are, or hope they're right for you. Does it take extra hardware to support ramping, or can I flash it on my other lights?

I just wish the MF01 had a better soft-lock :(

iirc you can flash it to a whole bunch of other lights but you need to fit the firmware into the memory

some lights aren't very moddable and for some you can literally find every UI

M43 and MF01 are the big two

and either you can flash it yourself at home or you can buy the PCB pre flashed and replace it iirc

Not exactly worried about ramping to 550 on an S Mini

take a look at budget light forums the guys know their shit about mods

if it can be flashed, they've done it

The UC15 could do with a better UI though, it's terrible. I'd learn to write one to fix that mess. And the included documentation is just wrong.

I always like how pretty much NO ONE worries or gets pissy about shining Death Star laser level flashlights at people. Even people who don't give a shit about flashlights are just "Holy crap, that's neat. You have how many? That's weird."
