T is the brightness? So T6 would be the brightest one?

2018-05-18 07:25:44 UTC

Color temp

2018-05-18 07:26:19 UTC

LEDs get sorted into different bins based on what color they are and how they perform, the Emitting Color option is which bin you're picking. Couldn't tell you specifics, read the description or link me the listing. 7135 has to do with the circuity involved, and I haven't delved into driver design much yet. @Sapharanth mind explaining?

2018-05-18 07:26:38 UTC

I think more let's it run brighter but less efficient?

Right on, so you're just picking color temperature. Ever bought lightbulbs?

2018-05-18 07:49:42 UTC

Lower is more yellow(warmer), higher is more blue(cooler). And cooler and warmer don't make sense because they get the numbers from if something was this temperature Kelvin, it would glow this color.

2018-05-18 07:50:18 UTC

But thas how it goes. Around 4000-5000 is usually considered neutral, higher is cool, lower is warm. Generally speaking.

2018-05-18 07:52:11 UTC

If you don't know or care, get 5000k, the T6-3B. Bluer SEEMS brighter. Although, arguably, blue makes it harder to see. But that's really only noticeable, and only barely, on crazy lights that are going multiple kilometers.

2018-05-18 07:53:13 UTC

But 5000k will seem awesome and bright without seeming overly blue, most would agree.

2018-05-18 07:58:57 UTC

fuck I wanna buy this thing but I forgot what website it was from

2018-05-18 07:59:00 UTC

It was like

2018-05-18 07:59:07 UTC

A microSD card holder in a keychain

2018-05-18 07:59:20 UTC

And they had one in a swiss army style

2018-05-18 07:59:43 UTC

Yeah, I guess I'll go for T5 or T6

2018-05-18 07:59:43 UTC

They have a very barebones website that has asterisks

2018-05-18 08:00:44 UTC

Found it

2018-05-18 08:01:23 UTC

I want this

2018-05-18 08:01:25 UTC

$23

2018-05-18 08:04:06 UTC

@timsandtoms each amc7135 : 350mA to the emitter on max mode

2018-05-18 08:06:07 UTC

Lumens increase greatly with current, but taper off from a log curve to linear

2018-05-18 08:07:15 UTC

And 2.8a isn't worth it, the brightness isn't much better when compared to 2.1a

2018-05-18 08:07:31 UTC

But of course heat and power consumption increase

2018-05-18 08:08:05 UTC

Right on, thanks.

2018-05-18 08:09:27 UTC

So @Millwood, you'll get around 1h15m runtime on max. Probably more.

2018-05-18 08:17:38 UTC

@Krieger The Viking Plague Doctor you sure the chinks don't make that? because the "shell" of that thing can be bought on Ali for like a few dollars at most.

2018-05-18 08:18:05 UTC

I hope the chinks make a version of this

2018-05-18 08:19:25 UTC
2018-05-18 08:19:30 UTC

sorry for mobile link

2018-05-18 08:19:50 UTC

finding an insert for cards and shit might be more complicated

2018-05-18 08:20:03 UTC

but even then 23usd seems like overkill

2018-05-18 08:20:08 UTC

Sometimes I wish I had a 3d printer

2018-05-18 08:20:13 UTC

same

2018-05-18 08:20:17 UTC

It really is overkill, it's why I haven't bought it

2018-05-18 08:21:55 UTC

Are 3d printers still like 2 grand for decent ones

2018-05-18 08:25:58 UTC

@Krieger The Viking Plague Doctor you can get great ones for 300 already

2018-05-18 08:26:15 UTC
