mi a1 is not unlocked

2018-05-18 18:51:03 UTC

but you can unlock it easily

2018-05-18 18:51:08 UTC

it's just a switch in settings iirc

2018-05-18 18:51:19 UTC

doesn't even wipe data

2018-05-18 18:51:40 UTC

also lock in my car broke

2018-05-18 18:51:48 UTC

replaced it with a chink one for €30

2018-05-18 18:52:01 UTC

everything works (electronics too)

2018-05-18 18:52:10 UTC

it just makes more noise than the OEM one

2018-05-18 18:52:15 UTC

and also takes more force to close the door now

2018-05-18 18:52:52 UTC

fair enough

2018-05-18 18:53:07 UTC

I'll get it to replace my dying OPO and install LOS on it

2018-05-18 18:53:25 UTC

@Millwood just because it's android one doesn't mean it will have an unlocked bootloader - see Nokia's lineup for 2018: Everything is Android One but none of them are unlockable (yet, anyway)

2018-05-18 18:53:43 UTC

>yet

2018-05-18 18:53:45 UTC

>nokia

2018-05-18 18:53:46 UTC

Huh, really? I didn't expet that

2018-05-18 18:53:51 UTC

@Goz3rr optimistic

2018-05-18 18:54:07 UTC

xiaomi releasing kernel sources day one is more likely

2018-05-18 18:54:08 UTC

2018-05-18 18:54:33 UTC

>only LOS release for the A1 is unofficial

2018-05-18 18:54:52 UTC

@Millwood yup, Android One has no relation to bootloader unlocking, at all. it's only about how the OS that the phone ships with works - no bloat, speedy updates etc

2018-05-18 18:55:25 UTC

@Deleted User if you want a phone with excellent LOS track record, Redmi Note 4x

2018-05-18 18:56:22 UTC

basically I'm looking for a xiaomi phone with type-C and good LOS support

2018-05-18 18:56:36 UTC

looked at the Note 4X but there's no type-C

2018-05-18 18:58:23 UTC

yeah, biggest downside of the 4x is the micro usb

2018-05-18 18:58:48 UTC

looks like I'm sticking with my OPO until it finally dies

2018-05-18 19:14:41 UTC

if you make a charge back report on paypal and the store dosent respond do you get your money back?

2018-05-18 19:30:01 UTC

yeah.

2018-05-18 19:33:52 UTC

So since I bought the charger, any good chink rechargeable AAs?

2018-05-18 19:35:31 UTC

yes

2018-05-18 19:35:58 UTC

2018-05-18 19:39:12 UTC

Nevermind

2018-05-18 19:39:33 UTC

AA laddas are rewrapped panasonic eneloops

2018-05-18 19:40:00 UTC

Damn it, I was nearby Ikea last week

2018-05-18 19:41:46 UTC

I don't see 2450mAh eneloops though

2018-05-18 19:42:14 UTC

@Millwood what Julian said, go for the Ikea batteries

2018-05-18 19:42:31 UTC

the white ones have more capacity

2018-05-18 19:42:47 UTC

brown ones are more useful in stuff like TV remotes

2018-05-18 19:42:52 UTC

white is right 👌

2018-05-18 19:43:00 UTC

and brown ones arent rechargeable iirc
