and then adjust it as you shave and get a feel for it

2018-07-24 08:17:55 UTC

with time

2018-07-24 08:17:59 UTC

Okay

2018-07-24 08:18:07 UTC

What razors do you use with that?

2018-07-24 08:18:32 UTC

I generally use Astra Platinum or Feather blades

2018-07-24 08:18:34 UTC

off amazon

2018-07-24 08:18:49 UTC

The razor comes with 5 chink blades, but they aren't bad at all.

2018-07-24 08:18:57 UTC

Oh, nice

2018-07-24 08:19:21 UTC

Though
>chink steel

2018-07-24 08:19:30 UTC

The pasta comes back

2018-07-24 08:20:00 UTC

I have 1 chink straight razor and it does as good job as <luxury gift name here>

2018-07-24 08:20:05 UTC

Astra blades are so cheap on amazon, not even worth looking into Ali for cheaper chink steel

2018-07-24 08:20:19 UTC

Yeah, I don't want chink blades

2018-07-24 08:20:33 UTC

Just curious which ones to get as I never used them

2018-07-24 08:20:46 UTC

I didn't cut myself in teenage years so no experience

2018-07-24 08:21:16 UTC

Do you have that holder? Does it stand properly? @Raikon

2018-07-24 08:22:58 UTC

Actually, what the fuck do I need a stand for?

2018-07-24 08:25:06 UTC

Stand is optional mostly. Just makes it look nicer on the counter. Probably helps it dry a bit faster, letting them sit wet is one of the biggest things that dulls blades.

2018-07-24 08:26:16 UTC

Adjustment changes how far the blade is up from the guard. More distance means more aggressive.

2018-07-24 08:26:23 UTC

Can't you just open it up so it dries fast?

2018-07-24 08:26:50 UTC

Yeah

2018-07-24 08:27:20 UTC

Okay, fuck the stand.

2018-07-24 08:27:25 UTC

I just ordered the shaver.

2018-07-24 08:27:31 UTC

But that's more effort, and you need to be careful not to touch the blade. Don't even wipe them, if they have a coating it can wear that.

2018-07-24 08:27:51 UTC

It's one of those things that doesn't REALLY matter.

2018-07-24 08:28:55 UTC

Also, first impression on that brush: softer and stiffer than my cheap badger hair. After using it: it's shit, won't lather well, spend $8 for proper animal hair.

2018-07-24 08:29:39 UTC

Sell me on cream and brush shit

2018-07-24 08:30:24 UTC

Canned goods works fine, nice soaps/creams are just nicer, and you need a brush to really lather then up good.

2018-07-24 08:31:44 UTC

They smell pretty, and are more lubricating, cost less in the long run(say, 4th can of goo runs out around the same time as that soap that cost 2x as much)

2018-07-24 08:32:02 UTC

Is it really better than standard nu-shaving gel?

2018-07-24 08:33:37 UTC

If you get decent stuff, yeah. If you get cheap supermarket garbage, then it's really only good if you're one of those people who decide shaving is some kinda personal time/morning ritual thing. I ain't about that.

2018-07-24 08:34:08 UTC

<:thvnk:332928260004642827>

2018-07-24 08:34:15 UTC

Just stick with the goo you have for now, it takes some getting used to a safety razor, angles and all that, less variables the better.

2018-07-24 08:36:50 UTC

But maybe get some soap and a cheap badger hair brush after this can or the next one. Proraso is good/cheap, dunno what else is out there nowadays. I went overboard and I've been working through my stock for a few years.

2018-07-24 08:38:21 UTC

Sounds good, finally I can shave like a real boomer

2018-07-24 08:40:13 UTC

Gotta get all hipster with it, get dat N.O.S. Fatboy, nothing but the finest silvertip badger in your vintage brush handle, with your custom Etsy shave bowl that you've heated up ahead of time, while you rotate through your stack of hot towels.

2018-07-24 08:41:57 UTC

Kek

2018-07-24 08:42:10 UTC

Hot towel is fucking nice though, gotta admit

2018-07-24 08:42:47 UTC

I should go full retard and use spirytus for after shave just like my dad

2018-07-24 08:47:47 UTC

Are chink vapes a bad idea

2018-07-24 08:49:09 UTC

I wouldn't buy one I hadn't seen reviews on and then use unprotected batteries in it
