What would you guys reccomend

Xperia XZ1 or Samsung A8

I had an Xperia Sola way back, quite good.

the main problem was that Sony made no recovery partition...

and it would self destruct its camera licenses if you unlocked it

which is the whole selling point of the phone

A8 is a bit pricy

a Xiaomi costs way less

goes for 360 euros here
