a 936 or t12 clone are better for desk work provided you arent size limited

and its power requirements means you cant use it portably without a really obscure battery pack
eh i dont need to solder a lot and i don't see the point of needing to store something bigger

i have my 936 stand ontop of the power supply so its footprint is barely bigger than what a ts100 would be on a desk

yeah they draw the power over usb most of the time now
older ones will have a separate power cord
