2018-09-22 08:59:08 UTC

qutie sturdy stuff

2018-09-22 08:59:20 UTC

fun part is : it came on small package tagged as "mobile phone cover"

2018-09-22 08:59:23 UTC

like ... what

2018-09-22 09:00:42 UTC

on a different topic

2018-09-22 09:00:43 UTC

I bought my fourth 2139U3 from ORICO three days ago, I think I bought too many.

2018-09-22 09:00:51 UTC

anyone know a chink powerline?

2018-09-22 09:01:08 UTC

or a good western one? the one that I got with isp is quite shit

2018-09-22 09:01:15 UTC

dont

2018-09-22 09:01:27 UTC

I have a friend that uses Powerline

2018-09-22 09:01:54 UTC

He got a Powerline from a Western brand and it was crap, they lied about specs too.

2018-09-22 09:02:12 UTC

the thing is I have basically no other option

2018-09-22 09:02:32 UTC

It was Devolo, so there you got my warning.

2018-09-22 09:02:33 UTC

pulling cable through the walls might be expensive idk

2018-09-22 09:02:56 UTC

I think his other ones worked great, he bought them as an upgrade but the internet kept disconnecting all the time using Devolo.

2018-09-22 09:03:41 UTC

Dont remember what his main was, he had to switch back to the old ones and wasted his money since no return window.

2018-09-22 09:03:49 UTC

They worked great for the return window though...

2018-09-22 09:04:21 UTC

Local powerlines tend to be cheaper

2018-09-22 09:04:24 UTC

Especially used

2018-09-22 09:04:29 UTC

Well 5 GHz doesnt handle walls any well, I got two Xiaomi 5 GHz routers and they are doing well here.

2018-09-22 09:05:18 UTC

I got one for a friend and he kept complaining that he got low ping in his shitty vidya games, when I came in I noticed why, idiot had put speakers and his PC next to it so you could even hear the signal distortion from the speakers

2018-09-22 09:05:45 UTC

"the router is crap"

2018-09-22 09:06:20 UTC

would be careful about used powerline though @spaqin but definitely get a brand one

2018-09-22 09:06:28 UTC

they are expensive af

2018-09-22 09:06:41 UTC

might ask electrician friend to come around and guess how much it's going to cost to get the cable from top floor to basement

2018-09-22 09:06:51 UTC

also be careful, get return window, it may be they dont work with your specific electrical wiring

2018-09-22 09:07:23 UTC

thing about wiring Ethernet is that its much cheaper to do a lot at once, thats why they wire up the whole place, but if you for example wire yourself it can be much cheaper.

2018-09-22 09:07:48 UTC

this house is ancient so idk about the wiring here

2018-09-22 09:08:14 UTC

I think old wiring can cause issues

2018-09-22 09:10:15 UTC

It is because the state of your wires will probably be corroded, old, with poor ground. Fuses that have seen better days, circuits that are round and not the new switch ones, you know those that heat up and "pop" I'm also poorfag so I know all about this, I dont have ground for shit in the power sockets in most my house even if we 2018.

2018-09-22 09:11:23 UTC

probably got no overvoltage protection, guess everything will be on fire when a lightening strike hits

2018-09-22 09:11:48 UTC

At this point I would just try some powerline and see if it works, if not dont bother, it can be that you are lucky.

2018-09-22 09:12:12 UTC

powerline works fine it's just that they're slow

2018-09-22 09:12:26 UTC

only getting a fraction of the internet speed I'm getting if I were to use a cable

2018-09-22 09:13:03 UTC

you cant expect your power cables to be as good as a Cat5.E or above Ethernet cable with shielding and 1 Gbps throughput *minimum.

2018-09-22 09:13:09 UTC

they will be shit

2018-09-22 09:13:41 UTC

Virgin high frequency modulation vs Chad 8 crossed wires with optional shielding

2018-09-22 09:13:48 UTC

let's talk more in <#189467888657235970>

2018-09-22 09:22:11 UTC

@Dietrich yeah don't buy that phone from gearbest

2018-09-22 09:22:56 UTC

@Tribit why not
