ive got a generic ebay waterstone but idk how to sharpen a knife so its been sittin around..

i bought it after watching a youtube pro talk about generic stones being fine for the job

You can sharpen a knife on a coffee mug. Generic stones are fine, they just aren't as nice.

As good ones I mean, not that they aren't as nice as a mug.

I need monomolecular blades though
