all about keeping the cycles as low as possible
oh, my laptop battery died a long time ago, its 8 years old so that makes sense
Lithium doesn't suffer from the memory effect nor does get effected by charging it differently
charging a lithium battery from 90% to 100% will cause signficantly less wear than charging from say 40% to 100%
That's why they cap the charge <:alismirk:230784726615588865>
I've been draining mine all the way since I got it hahaha
and thats why i keep it topped up during the day, so i rarely do a full charge cycle
thanks for the info man
Which phone do you have Adam?
mine has a replacable battery fortunately so its not a huge concern
Mi Mix 2S
just got it and the battery isn't THAT big so i wanna keep it healthy for as long as possible
I think xiaomi doesn't limit the charge capacity on those things
i haven't read anything about that tbh
do they not?
my samshit has been fine for at least 2 years of usage
i'll probably root it eventually and cap it with accubattery or something to stop it at 80% or so anyway
So far Samsung is the only one known to cap their battery's to 80% so the capacity stays 95% after 1 or 2 years worth of cycles
its a pretty smart thing to do tbh
Some users on XDA managed to remove the 80% battery limit but required modified software
nice
might be the same for sony phones
it would be nice as a configurable option in any phone
Hell even the Nissan leaf has that option
what's the sweet spot for battery level
just don't wanna bother with rooting this thing just yet but i'll get around to it
20-80 right?
A (your smartphone automatically does this for you) out of 100
20% isn't exactly a "sweet spot", but it's a good idea not to let it get much lower than that
lmao I always drain whoops
charging between 20-80 causes MUCH less wear than charging from 0 - 100 tho
shouldnt have stuck to my boomer ideals
like not just a little bit, it becomes orders of magnitude at that point
I drain beyond 0% <:blobhyperthink:427568506905559040>
my battery goes to 0% before it shuts off and it feels like when that bit of music plays on the last round of mario kart
Upsm doesn't shut down until the display starves for voltage, usually soud cuts out 10 seconds after that and the phone stops functioning after 30 seconds
sometimes I'll charge it when its at 0 and it will shut off while charging
I wish phones could be powered via cable like laptops
USB C my fren
I refuse to get any phone without a headphone jack, whats good and relatively cheap? @AstroJannah
