the month doesn't tell me shit so why give that to me first
the month is a given unless the next month just started so after the first day of the month I just want to know what the day is

the only time knowing the month first is useful is when the month changes

but at the same time, if I wanna look back at a recent date why the heck do I want to know the day first

I need to know what section of the year something is in, and then I want the specifics

DD/MM when referencing recent dates and MM/DD when referencing anything else

but we can't have both so just make the historical record the standard and make it always MM/DD so we don't get confused
