normally I'd say that gas -> electric energy production is more efficient than combustion engines but that generator looks mighty old

Depends on the size of the motor and stall amperage it can withstand, otherwise you have to seriously gear it

It also depends on if it’s a brushed or brushless motor

I wouldnt trust electric and diesel is just fine
