Let me tell you something about metal
It's very technically impressive
There's a huge need for the understanding of music theory because of the complexity of it
it's like jazz.
Almost all of it sounds like shit.
and almost all of it sounds the same
I can't stand nearly any of it.
Yeah, that's why I barely ever liten to metal
But imo you're generalising a bit, what you say mostly apply to modern "extreme metal" and there's a lot of subgenres and individual artists that differ from that
I didn't get into metal until I learned guitar as a teen
But yeah, my biggest problem with metal is that it isn't about making good songs but rather shredding the guitar as fast as you can
which was a great thing for my music taste because before I learned guitar I was into awful fucking shit music like Evanescence and Fuel
And it doesn't matter that what you play sounds like shit and that it's unoriginal af
As long as you play fast and your technique is impressive you
're all good in the metal scene
