The reason I picked up the book on terpenes was because I've been looking up the components of essential oils and familiarizing with those.... there was a book on perfumery that I should've gotten too but I didn't want to spend money and now I regret not buying it because it had loads of cool terpenes in alphabetical order and their differing properties <:sangry:519749026502148096>

the diploma i got was shit and colleges are just assholes when it comes to non-degree students applying. I dont have time to go for a full degree and would just want to go for the chem classes.
That's a bummer, as much as I dislike educational institutions, there are certainly some advantages to studying in very refined, structured way

And plus, if you study the periodic table every day, you always learn something new
It is a very clever way of organising information
I am always impressed when I learn a new principle relating to chemistry and then finding that it's already expressed in the periodic table

I feel like I never get enough of the main group elements
It would be more fun to learn if there wasn't such a massive pressure to perform well on exams though, I guess that's one big advantage to being self taught
