I'm not sure how many people here like to play video games to get some respite from the insanity of the world
but it looks like in the future even that will be shit
How it will probably look:
as the game will be in some centrals erver location/cloud/whatever, the company will have total control over the game
no modding
no piracy
total surveillance of the user that cannot be avoided
parts of the game can be quickly censored or adjusted at any time (and without any ability to circumvent the censorship)
games can be taken down immediatly at any time out of nowhere
And it would be likely that you might end up to have to pay a constant subscription fee as long as you play the game, similar to what is already happening to most 3d graphics programs
Not sure if that would even get popular
@ᚱᛟᛟᛏ it doesn't have to be popular
Google has the money to incentivize console exclusives
It'll start from the ground up with indie titles who can't afford to not go Google

see this is cute, but it's also like...sad
Reminds you of society, right?

Apple can’t count
And they were good boys all
@Naga Sake This 3D render of a coronary mass ejection is all it takes to seriously fuck up our planet and everything on it and we got a crisp 12% chance of that happening at any given time.
Well until 2022 anyways when those chances are re-evaluated.
holy shit
one solar flare and we're donzo
