I know it happened some half and a week ago, but I forgot to post it here

CNN seems to be truly as shitty as it's told to be tbh

The whole thing is a bit funny for me, because not so long ago I was talking a lot about how there wasn't any political murder in Poland for so long

They stabbed him cuz why?

Oh cuz he criticized conservatism

There was a guy who went to the prison for 5 years for bank robbery or sth
And he got mad on him for that

You could ask - how is it a political murder?

But the thing is, that our current ruling party claims that our former ruling party (which Adamowicz was member of) and other people that are part of the "układ" (system) controls the Polish judiciary
And both sides were fighting over the judiciary system and the reforms proposed by our ruling party (EU was involved in that too)
But the most important thing is, that political climate here isn't the most healthy one and members of one "political camp" sometimes even call to physically harm the members of the other "camp" and stuff like that (for example the older case of some female MP calling to shave one of other female MP's head)
And since our ruling party laid their hands on public TV, they got a really powerful propaganda machine

So it was only a matter of time when somebody will get hurt, but I think they were hoping it would be someone from their side, so they would have a martyr and could use the thing in the upcoming election campaign

But now I think that the opposition will benefit more from the incident

There's just everything - two affairs with Chinese spies (and Huawei company), American officials telling our government what to do again, drug affair in health ministry (it seems that in this case Yankees had their part too), teachers' strike, another strike in Biedronka/Jeronimo Martins chain store, another affair with father Rydzyk and state owned companies and this murder of Gdańsk's mayor I've posted before

@laurefinwë regarding public transport: I live 120km from my job and it'd take me 5 hours each way to take transit _if_ the trains ran the proper direction

I mean, I know that Americans don't use public transport because there is basically no public transport beside NY

@laurefinwë even if there were America is much less urbanized than Europe. There's a lot more land here for people to spread out

Yeah, but that doesn't explain why there's no public transtport in cities
I understand that there's no way there would be a bus every 30 minutes to every shithole village or town in the west
But metro system, trams and similar means of urban public transport would do just as good in US as they do everywhere else

Almost every major city has that fam

And I only say almost because I can't think of every city's public transit offhand

Dunno, I've heard that for example in LA you literally can't live without having a car, because there is no other way to get around there

That's not true. I was just there and inside the city there's plenty of bus and train

Although from my experience in Florida I have to say that public transport there is pretty non-existent compared to cities in Poland

Also keep in mind "cant live without a car" means something different to Americans than it would to you

I lived without one for years and it was inconvenient but not undoable
