That justifies my shitty English skills a bit I guess

2019-06-03 13:48:16 UTC

>Not making 70-80s in all subjects

2019-06-03 13:48:27 UTC

Disappointed.

2019-06-03 13:50:16 UTC

You mean %?

2019-06-03 13:50:32 UTC

Yeah

2019-06-03 13:50:37 UTC

We never used letter grades here

2019-06-03 13:50:42 UTC

Because they're fucking stupid.

2019-06-03 13:50:45 UTC

We don't use letter grades either

2019-06-03 13:52:18 UTC

We use numbers from 1 to 6
Where 6 is the highest grade, some kind of "A+" which is reserved only for having extracurricular knowledge of the subject (at least in theory)

2019-06-03 13:52:34 UTC

Germans use the opposite system where 1 is the highest grade

2019-06-03 13:52:43 UTC

We did the 1-5 metric in middle school but that was a "we'll try it and see how it goes" thing. 5 being the highest grade.

2019-06-03 13:53:23 UTC

In percents it's something like:
90%+ - 5
75%+ - 4
50%+ - 3
30%+ - 2

2019-06-03 14:02:37 UTC

I've done the straight A thing but I've also done the 0.2 gpa thing

2019-06-03 14:03:21 UTC

<:kek:519747357076881408>

2019-06-03 14:05:49 UTC

Okay, gpa is "grade point average", right?
But what's the highest possible gpa in US?

2019-06-03 14:05:57 UTC

Since I assume the lowest is just 0?

2019-06-03 14:06:07 UTC

It's 4.0 isn't it?

2019-06-03 14:06:26 UTC

Oh, then 0.2 looks quite bad

2019-06-03 15:05:26 UTC

It can go up to 5.0 because classes can be weighted

2019-06-03 15:05:55 UTC

To where an A/90%+ is a 5 and not a 4

2019-06-03 15:07:17 UTC

It's so that advanced students can distinguish themselves.

2019-06-03 15:07:45 UTC

Paco having straight A's in remedial classes shouldn't have the same status as someone acing their full AP class roll.

2019-06-03 15:07:50 UTC

Why can't you just have one standarised ed system?
How do you even get your heads around all this bullshit?

2019-06-03 15:08:16 UTC

I don't mean that particular thing

2019-06-03 15:08:39 UTC

Although I've heard that even that varies across the country
I mean, the way gpa works

2019-06-03 15:09:21 UTC

I blame farenheit.

I saw some of these being planted on my way to work.

2019-06-03 20:40:47 UTC

"They're cold Hardy. They come from the snow."

2019-06-03 20:40:59 UTC

>hide them from the weather in a box

2019-06-03 20:41:01 UTC

I FUCKIN SAW THAT BOX

2019-06-03 20:41:13 UTC

Not irl but in the article and thought the same thing.

2019-06-03 20:41:22 UTC

The ones in the ground on the way to work were open

2019-06-03 20:41:24 UTC

And not covered.

2019-06-03 20:41:32 UTC

But I think it's because it's summer now
