Not a documentary, but Dan Carlin has a pretty good podcast series on WWI.
Called Blueprint for Armageddon.
It's on YouTube I think.
It's like 6 hours of podcast though

I know older radio tech had less finesse in them than modern ones.
That's part of the charm of old timey radio and audio clips.
Like JFK comes to mind. The microphones from that time are less smooth than our current ones.
