If we stop the root causes of these biodiversity declines (artificiality) then we will see a recovery in biodiversity. @HyperBaroque

Meat production is cruel and wasteful because so many calories is needed to produce a single kg of meat, if everyone went to veganism then there would be plenty of food for everyone.

No one is gonna be vegan

2019-02-27 19:00:00 UTC

But we can start by having local like meat farms

2019-02-27 19:00:05 UTC

Like we do plants

2019-02-27 19:00:07 UTC

wasnt there some thing about some veg being engineered to express ~~nicotinamide~~ ~~nicotine*~~ neonitocotamides* producing genes or something? sounded addicting <:doge:511590627860021258>

Oh oh

+ "Global warming" is not man-made. The earth goes through long-term and short-term cycles so that' not what's causing insect populations to decline. 98% decline in one part of the forest could be explained by lots of possible explanations (migration, seasonal effects, statistical error, propaganda). The big problem for rainforests is deforestation and land being used for farming with chemicals/pesticides/GMO crops. If we abandon this Jetsons-style living and revert to naturalistic systems based on sustainaibility -- all the biodiversity we're seen disappaear would re-appear again. You haven't shown this "beyond the point of no return" whatsover. @HyperBaroque

2019-02-27 19:01:37 UTC

@tinge_of_ginge we also need gmo to feed our animals

2019-02-27 19:01:45 UTC

I am very opposed to meat production because of the outrageous cruelty, there is literally no reason to keep them locked up like that, it is heartless to do.

2019-02-27 19:01:51 UTC

A slaughter house that has a million cows is gonna need over a ton of food

2019-02-27 19:02:40 UTC

Meat production also poisons ground water with pharmaceuticals because of the grounds permeability.

moving goalposts. you said show you 98% insect die off figure and i did.

here comes an article more directly relevant to your personal problems: the denial stage of grief.

i'll just point you to the works of Caroline Bird, Jacques Cousteau, etc.

suddenly you're such a big believer in truth in media and sources?

name one published source today with a vested interest in publishing the truth.

and considering authors were putting us past the point of no return decades ago amd weren't listened to then, why do you think anyone's listening today?

i'm not going to try and have a bad faith argument with a flat earther. your ideologies are ezactly what they are: ideologies. you won't be convinced, no matter what.

see: denial stage of grief. pardon me for not holding your hand through the bargaining stage, it's tumultuous enough without having to deal with a person's theological irreverence for sciences.
