Been looking at one for a bit

2019-09-15 02:13:36 UTC

Slight blueish/greenish tint to it, but I don't find it distracting at all

2019-09-15 02:14:09 UTC

Yngsr says it doesn't have a high as refresh rate as the E/XPSs, but I have no idea what the refers to, tbh

2019-09-15 02:15:16 UTC

Refresh rate?

2019-09-15 02:15:21 UTC

Yeah wut

2019-09-15 02:20:36 UTC

Like I said, no idea

2019-09-15 02:22:41 UTC

If you really go for it, there's a newer *gen* of the UH-1

2019-09-15 02:23:05 UTC

Don't know when it started production, but it corrected the bluish-greenish tint a lot of people complained about

2019-09-15 02:40:40 UTC

The projected image isn't as consistent

2019-09-15 02:41:10 UTC

Like 60 fps vs 30fps

2019-09-15 02:53:21 UTC

How does this actually look like in practice?

2019-09-15 02:57:02 UTC

Like things are stuttering, blurry, like shitty movie motion blur. With something attached to your face like nods, optics, vr it can cause nausea, discomfort, and disorientation

2019-09-15 02:57:18 UTC

Some people are a lot more sensitive to it than othera

2019-09-15 02:59:35 UTC

Understandable

2019-09-15 03:00:55 UTC

A series of images playing at at 30 hertz aka fps will blur together and create what your brain sees as motion. Anything lower than that will look like a slide show and you will very clearly see the difference

2019-09-15 03:01:48 UTC

The difference in 30 to 60 fps/Hertz is not as easy for some people to see. But it can be very noticable and cause a lot of discomfort

2019-09-15 03:01:53 UTC

What I'm trying to understand is how this factors into a static sight

2019-09-15 03:02:09 UTC

And where exactly the specs are coming from

2019-09-15 03:02:24 UTC

When you move the gun or something in the sights field of view moves the image is refreshed

2019-09-15 03:02:48 UTC

Even small micro movements will be noticeable as the thing refrwshes

2019-09-15 03:05:10 UTC

Its a pretty well known thing, it's why thr battery life is higher than most holo sights

2019-09-15 03:07:27 UTC

So like the light that is being projected on to the glass to illuminate it. It's not constantly on and it's not constantly the same brightness. It's being projected at a rate you cant really see. Fiber optic sights like trijicons don't so that. But a lot of red dots like eotechs do

2019-09-15 03:07:32 UTC

>pretty well-known
>absolutely nothing brought up in regards to Vortex's style of holographic tech affecting refresh rate and battery life

2019-09-15 03:07:37 UTC

🤔

2019-09-15 03:08:03 UTC

I've been looking around for the refresh rate on the UH-1 and nothing is brought up

2019-09-15 03:08:15 UTC

It's only been sir and gooks that ever brings it up

2019-09-15 03:08:53 UTC

Because it literally doesn't matter

2019-09-15 03:10:16 UTC

Yeah, P sure GT talks about it

2019-09-15 03:10:38 UTC

Most people don't notice it because its such a slight difference

2019-09-15 03:10:49 UTC

Or care to notice it

2019-09-15 03:10:51 UTC

I've only heard people get super anal about it with nods, thermals, and vr headsets because it give a you a headache and makes you want to throw up when it's too slow

2019-09-15 03:11:39 UTC

Wait wtf why do the sights have refresh rates

2019-09-15 03:11:42 UTC

>nods with the UH-1

2019-09-15 03:11:49 UTC

A laser doesn't have to have a "refresh" rate

2019-09-15 03:12:04 UTC

The UH-1 phases

2019-09-15 03:12:32 UTC

Phase this dick

2019-09-15 03:13:12 UTC

I still don't understand

2019-09-15 03:13:32 UTC

Eh, I don't either

2019-09-15 03:13:37 UTC

Fucking laser technology

2019-09-15 03:13:42 UTC

Why does the sight have a refresh rate

2019-09-15 03:13:42 UTC

The UH1 flashes the reticle
