Also Kuwait wasn’t remotely that important for oil

2019-03-03 03:53:06 UTC

We get most of our oil domestically

2019-03-03 03:53:20 UTC

Saddam also sent people to their Deaths against Iran, and is guilty for crimes against humanity breaking most of the human rights conventions, but then again most of those nations do that, america has done a lot of shit in the middle east yeah, but they arent the only ones to blame. America is right now assisting in the genocide of the yeminis by selling weapons to the saudis who are using them to kill the yeminis.

2019-03-03 03:53:38 UTC

I think Americans expected Saddam to be more violent... especially towards Iran - but was a disappointment

2019-03-03 03:53:43 UTC

Only 12 percent from the Persian gulf

2019-03-03 03:53:58 UTC

And 8 percent of that is Saudi Arabian

2019-03-03 03:54:13 UTC

I think its fucked up that the UN doesnt step in and tell the saudis to back off from yemen

2019-03-03 03:54:25 UTC

but then again the US is selling the weapons for oil

2019-03-03 03:54:35 UTC

The un is a fucking joke

2019-03-03 03:55:41 UTC

Where i'm from - the Yemen thing ain't even on a news.. not even on a side-notes really.

2019-03-03 03:56:53 UTC

Its not on our news either, i think this world is so fucked up, Israel, Saudiarabia and other states like these are allowed to thrive while others are taken down when they arent as bad, even if they still are bad.

2019-03-03 03:59:48 UTC

If Israel just didnt become the new version of the 3rd reich it would be able to provide a good life for all citizens there, but they choose tyranny, like hamas, both of them are different sides of the same coin, racist and evil. organizations both of them.

2019-03-03 04:10:25 UTC

Its a mix of predatory crony capitalism and ethno nationalism @EzkealSutekh

2019-03-03 04:10:33 UTC

I keep saying that nationalism is so last century

2019-03-03 04:10:50 UTC

Its the measles of the nascent political class that arose post feudalism

2019-03-03 04:12:28 UTC

Well both of their religions are also ethnocentric so that does not help either.

2019-03-03 04:15:13 UTC

Eh, you can convert to Judaism and Islam.

2019-03-03 04:15:29 UTC

Its more nationalist than anything.

2019-03-03 04:15:44 UTC

Pan Arabism from the Muslim side

2019-03-03 04:17:02 UTC

Won't matter much longer anyway. Climate change will soon render much of those areas uninhabitable.

2019-03-03 04:19:03 UTC

My point was just that this behaviour of excluding and exclusivity is not a new concept to them, saudi arabia is closed for non muslims, judaism tells jews that they are special chosen people, and they have used this to justify their actions. Nationalism isnt that prevalent in arabic countries, they define themselves as shias or sunnis and have attacked each other based on that, like 2 halves of 2 countries attack 2 halves of another country, where its shia and sunni who are at war.

2019-03-03 04:20:13 UTC

These religions make ethnic groups become ethnoreligious groups because of how much of their identity and culture becomes part of it.

2019-03-03 04:20:30 UTC

This is where predatory crony capitalism comes in.

2019-03-03 04:20:50 UTC

Without the west pumping them full of money and weapons they'd be useless shapes in the sand.

2019-03-03 04:22:27 UTC

They would be better off without the weapons for their oil, while they had horrible dictators, their countries were actually doing something for themselves, with actual nice infrastructure and civilization.

2019-03-03 04:22:34 UTC

Profits dictate that we cannot sanction them and therefore we continue to fund them equipped morals have no place when the shareholders profits are in danger

2019-03-03 04:23:13 UTC

But that is why there is a bit of regulation, no market is completely free, not even in the US.

2019-03-03 04:23:59 UTC

But the regulation does not apply here because of corruption and the high ranking people who are stockholders of the weapons trade.

2019-03-03 04:25:10 UTC

that is correct. Which is why corporations fund extreme right-wing parties such as the Republican Party in the US to destroy every last bit of regulation possible

2019-03-03 04:26:25 UTC

Environmental regulations, sanctions against dictatorships at autocratic regimes, basic protections for workers

2019-03-03 04:27:04 UTC

Lobbyism should be illegal, insulin medicine in the US costs 350 bucks, you can get the same medicine in the UK for 15 bucks, let that sink in.

2019-03-03 04:28:45 UTC

Trump and the corporate world only cares about growth, only economists believe in infinite growth on a finite planet, therefore they wont have any environmental regulations.

2019-03-03 04:29:46 UTC

Instead of growth, we should aim at sustainability at a certain point of wealth that is enough to sustain our way of life and the population.

2019-03-03 04:30:33 UTC

No

2019-03-03 04:30:38 UTC

lobbyists are good

2019-03-03 04:30:44 UTC

just like the trilateral commission

2019-03-03 04:30:47 UTC

and CFR

2019-03-03 04:31:14 UTC

because we little people who dont want to kill yemeni kids with our taxis have such SMALL brains

2019-03-03 04:31:27 UTC

cant decide to make BIG profits for COrporate leadership

2019-03-03 04:31:31 UTC

they have BIG brains

2019-03-03 04:31:42 UTC

so they control the world through artificial debt
