It just be like it is
Niggas weren't over the beach shooting in Eugene stoners day
...?
Jesus Christ. That's multiple orders of magnitude worse than how I though it worked. I wonder if some kind of overpressure relief valve in the bcg or gas block could prevent it. I'm sure it would be hell to design though. You could safely use it underwater if you had an adjustable gas port and you closed it and used it like a bolt action right?
Electronic firing systems when? Lol. (Oh, and electromagnetic adjustable buffers would be kick ass)
🤔
Yikes

@CTL what? I know we're still a ways away from that, but spark systems have been proven capable of handling millions of cycles without fault. The ammunition still needs tons work, and we might need a bit more improvement in battery technology. Firearm development is slow for good reason, but I think it's possible. Electronic buffers need a big leap in battery tech though.
🤔
Okay gets flexed on by an EMP
Electronics could be the future, the problem is it's like insanely marginal returns for a lot of expense
Improving optics and sighting systems are where actual gains are made
They do electronic firing cannons on some AA and turret systems
A 1oz trigger ain't gonna really help shit
Rheinmetall has an electronic. 50
GAUs have electronic firing mechanisms
Yeah it's not hard and it's useful for big shit
Ain't really gonna help shit
ofc
them miniguns are useless if the vehicles is off

There are benefits for small arms, like less moving parts, underwater operation, a trigger that can be designed without the rest of the gun in mind, and possibly more stable ammunition, and variable firing rates for automatic fire. Oh, and it's easier for civilians to uh.... show NFA laws regarding automatic weapons the respect the deserve?
Why tf would you fire a gun underwater? Thats a waste
Real frogman hours.
They get out of the water before they do that or use a harpoon gun
But what if the commies are in the water with you?
A harpoon gun
