the only polymer on the outside of my g shock is the superficial plastic on the outside and the band

2019-10-02 02:34:05 UTC

Might just get one of the slimmer gshocks then

2019-10-02 02:34:24 UTC

They have a very tough one that looks like yours

2019-10-02 02:34:25 UTC

my watch for reference

2019-10-02 02:34:36 UTC

Its based off the original gshock design

2019-10-02 02:34:40 UTC

that chewed up band around the glass feels like rubber or something

2019-10-02 02:34:46 UTC

everything else is metal

2019-10-02 02:35:00 UTC

It doesnt look fucked up either

2019-10-02 02:35:08 UTC

I dont like wearing mine outside of work cause its beat to hell

2019-10-02 02:35:27 UTC

I wear mine everywhere because it’s sentimental but it looks like shit

2019-10-02 02:35:40 UTC

Only reason I didnt insta buy a gshock is because of how bulky they are, had a similar style watch before and would get it caught on everything

2019-10-02 02:35:43 UTC

Reaching my hands into tight spaces

2019-10-02 02:36:11 UTC

@Toby Tobacco buy the original g shock there like 60$ and slim

2019-10-02 02:36:13 UTC

I do have to take mine off when I make my bed because it’s against a wall but I haven’t been inconvenienced otherwise

2019-10-02 02:36:22 UTC

Its just the better version of your current watch

2019-10-02 02:36:34 UTC

Yeah I think thats what I'll buy

2019-10-02 02:36:47 UTC

@fjogert i know exactly what your talkin about

2019-10-02 02:36:51 UTC

And at that point it seems worth getting the nato straps, or straps with a decent compass on it

2019-10-02 02:37:13 UTC

Theres lots of compatable stuff with the g shocks

2019-10-02 02:37:31 UTC

Mid teir daily use i reccomend em

2019-10-02 02:38:31 UTC

I know there are a billion different g-shocks with a billion different features
Anything neat the most basic one does? I know there is one with a barometer and one with a thermometer. I'm almost certain there is one with a compass.

2019-10-02 02:38:45 UTC

mine has a thermometer and a compass

2019-10-02 02:39:04 UTC

2019-10-02 02:39:08 UTC

I saw the bearing marks on yours but didnt see the actual compass

2019-10-02 02:39:15 UTC

Ohhh

2019-10-02 02:39:17 UTC

Now I notice it

2019-10-02 02:39:19 UTC

the second hand becomes a compass

2019-10-02 02:39:26 UTC

you push the big side button

2019-10-02 02:39:37 UTC

also top right display is stored bearing

2019-10-02 02:40:01 UTC

Mine is standard multi time zone 3 alarm and the feature that turns your light on when you turn you wrist

2019-10-02 02:40:06 UTC

it’s not a extremely accurate though

2019-10-02 02:40:20 UTC

enough to do really basic land navigation

2019-10-02 02:40:42 UTC

Reckon it'd be enough for hiking/camping? Thats why I really want a watch with a compass

2019-10-02 02:40:54 UTC

yeah

2019-10-02 02:41:03 UTC

I've left compasses at home before but if it was on my wrist, it'd always be with me ykno

2019-10-02 02:41:32 UTC

I can remember landmarks well enough to think “north east on the way out, south west on the way back”

2019-10-02 02:41:35 UTC

Man tie it to your pack

2019-10-02 02:41:42 UTC

I wouldn’t go long distances in a flat desert though

2019-10-02 02:41:54 UTC

Nah I live innawoods and every place I want to go is innawoods

2019-10-02 02:42:10 UTC

Or onnamountain

2019-10-02 02:42:32 UTC

you’ll probably be fine but I can give no guarantees
