Yeah, they’re kind of heavy though
best go-to option for poorfags
what is opinion on highcom 4sas 7's?
is the hesco special threat plates worth looking into for the tad of weight savings while still being "poor"
Certified ceramics and high end polymers. 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻
@Varkeszo rma used to make plates with larger foam rings to make the plate seem lighter
Oof
Hesco special threat plates are what I’ve been considering
i think the 4sas7 is the old school .04 certification with no foam coverage
also good steel plates exist but most people don't have access or shouldn't buy them
hence the thinness. same as my VS plates
I don't use plates because I want to die
Is spall the biggest reason steel armor is shit?
spall and the ubiquity of M193
kinda, most steel companies make their armor out of precertified pot metal
@tacticoolyourjets Do you know what a sucking chest wound is?
Weight, can be penetrated by 193 at higher velocity
@Varkeszo just don't get shot retard
I don't even know why I carry chest seals
They’re stupid ass heavy though especially for the protection level
good steel plates exist but they're usually really expensive and designed to be super thin for low vis armor against x39 ammo
not to mention you can get ceramics with better protection in the same thinness now
these are some titanium alloy, but they come in steel
If you're gearing up for civilian irregular type tactics, prioritize speed and mobility. Get some decent LBE before you worry about armor.
With armor it’s pretty much: good, cheap, light, pick two
Yes
When the time comes to do the bit, if ever, you'll either be good enough to get better gear off the ground for free, or you'll be dead. In the meantime, get decent gear and get good
