IRA intensifies

2019-11-26 08:48:11 UTC

One of my best friends is cousins with a big IRA guy

2019-11-26 08:51:34 UTC

Don't like the IRA

2019-11-26 08:52:12 UTC

Though I can see how they are a romantic and charismatic group to people abroad

2019-11-26 08:52:48 UTC

I'm not Irish, I'm Northern Irish, they do me no favour

2019-11-26 08:53:55 UTC

Where does the political divide lie?

2019-11-26 08:55:09 UTC

In which sense

2019-11-26 09:02:11 UTC

Like what do they stand for that doesn't line up with what you stand for

2019-11-26 09:02:55 UTC

I'm a unionist

2019-11-26 09:03:22 UTC

So that for a start

2019-11-26 09:04:26 UTC

I'm in the odd position of being a Catholic who's a Brit

2019-11-26 09:05:53 UTC

There's a few more personal reasons too that I'd not really like to get into right now

2019-11-26 09:06:36 UTC

But I'm from an army family

2019-11-26 10:31:09 UTC

Catholic gang

2019-11-26 10:31:13 UTC

Inshallah brother

2019-11-26 11:13:38 UTC

no papists

2019-11-26 11:46:33 UTC

Catholics are all heathens for worshipping Mary and the saints

2019-11-26 12:20:20 UTC

Catholicism is weird

2019-11-26 12:20:44 UTC

They don't venerate Mary nor the Saints. They do actually worship them.

2019-11-26 12:21:06 UTC

It's a pagan "woman worship" ideal it seems.

2019-11-26 12:26:16 UTC

Traditional mass is kinda odd too

2019-11-26 12:31:39 UTC

I don't think there is anything wrong with liturgical services, but the fact that the Trinity is held in lower standard than Mary is heretical.

2019-11-26 12:46:37 UTC

Isn't worshipping a saint idolatry though

2019-11-26 12:53:15 UTC

yes, worshipping a Springfield saint is Haram

2019-11-26 12:56:59 UTC

Daily fuck you

2019-11-26 12:57:04 UTC

Have a nice day

2019-11-26 13:02:44 UTC

@fredfuchs There is a difference between worship and veneration. Worship would be giving your prayers *to* the Saint. Veneration is praying to the Trinity *with* the Saint.

2019-11-26 13:04:17 UTC

Every saint is so because of something they've done in the name of God. Praying with them, giving them respect and using them as a point of reference for "I want to be like that" is veneration. I'm not sure how the Catholic church goes about it though.

2019-11-26 13:13:56 UTC

I think its more like a role model thing than it is saints being viewed as a god

2019-11-26 13:17:34 UTC

I wana say the idea is you ask the saint to talk to god about your prayer

2019-11-26 13:20:15 UTC

I blame catholicism for all the mexican teen moms

2019-11-26 13:20:28 UTC

Birth control is a sin headass

2019-11-26 13:20:51 UTC

But aren't prayers reserved for a god

2019-11-26 13:21:13 UTC

Catholics have a different set of rules that Christians

2019-11-26 13:21:14 UTC

Like when you pray for someone you are praying for your god to look after them

2019-11-26 13:25:34 UTC

Unfortunately the only somewhat based form of Christianity left is Mormonism

2019-11-26 13:26:43 UTC

It’s really unfortunate that the only sect willing to resist the dildo of modernity in the tiniest ways is a magic underwear cult
